More than 50% of the industrial and logistics projects under construction in Romania are already pre-leased with leasing activity in Q1 2021 rising by 50% to over 300,000 sqm compared to the same quarter of 2021, according to a report by Cushman & Wakefield Echinox. 

European developer and owner of semi-industrial and logistics properties VGP has acquired a new tenant for its logistics park VGP Park Kladno in the Kladno East industrial zone. It is the Danish company Kvadrat, which focuses on interior design and is entering the domestic market, VGP announced.

Take-up on the Budapest industrial market added up to 102,410 sqm in Q1 2022, which marks a 130% increase compared to the same period of the previous year, the Budapest Research Forum (BRF) reports.

The modern, developer-led warehouse stock in the Czech Republic has almost reached 10 million sqm and it may surpass 11 million within a year. A record amount of space was under construction as it has reached a 103% increase compared to Q1 2021. Gross take-up (including renegotiations) also grew in Q1 2022. This quarter also marks the end of the decline in the vacancy rate after almost two years. A total of 175,300 sqm of modern industrial premises is available for immediate occupation. The Industrial Research Forum has announced industrial market figures for Q1 2022.

VGP has gradually leased over 49,000 sqm of warehouse space in its VGP Park Olomouc to Hella Autotechnik Nova. The first contract was signed last November. It has now signed another contract with the concern for space that is still under construction. The transaction was announced today by VGP.

P3, an investor and developer of European warehouse facilities, has acquired 29 hectares of land in Kąty Wrocławskie. This newly purchased plot is located near Wrocław, in the Lower Silesia region, one of the most attractive warehouse locations in Poland. Logistics facilities will be built on the site comprising a total area of around 175,000 sqm.

Panattoni has started the construction of the first Polish logistics centre for Hermes Fulfilment. The investment is being built in Iłowa in Western Poland. The 150,000 sqm project will be one of Hermes’ largest hubs in Europe and is to provide employment for around 1,900 people. The company is planning to open the centre by the end of 2023 following an investment of around €300 million.

Kész Group's new logistics centre will offer 10,000 sqm of industrial space at Szigetszentmiklós, just off the M0 ring road.

Romanian developer Element Industrial will invest €20 million in the expansion of ELI Park 3 by 30,000 sqm, with Ferro Romania, a retailer of sanitary installation equipment, pre-leasing 16,000 sqm in the project.

Logistics provider Maracana has signed a lease to expand its warehouse capacity to over 10,000 sqm in MLP Bucharest West, in a deal brokered by real estate consultancy JLL Romania.
