Colliers has prepared a report that comprehensively analyzes the role of mixed-use projects in Polish cities – in terms of investment, architecture, and city-forming functions.

Magdalena Bartkiewicz-Podoba, CEO, Liebrecht & wooD Poland talked to Property Forum about their newest large-scale, mixed-use investment in Warsaw, revitalization-related challenges and creating a valuable urban fabric.

Liebrecht & wooD has started preparations for its latest project in Warsaw’s Praga-Północ district. Drucianka Campus will be developed as part of the revitalization of Drucianka (the Warsaw Wire, Pin and Nail Factory), which will be a large-scale mixed-use complex, offering 42,000 sqm of office space and more than 7,500 sqm of additional space for retail, services and events.

LaSalle Investment Management (LaSalle) launched the development of a new premium retail and office centre, 100YARDS on the iconic Na Příkopě street in Central Prague. The project will transform three separate buildings into one mixed-use complex which will feature a landmark new shopping destination and premium office space. The opening is planned for the second half of 2024, the company says.

Property developer Speedwell has recently obtained the building permit for the second residential building of the Paltim mixed-use project developed in Timișoara. 

Strabag will build the first residential building of Speedwell’s mixed-use scheme Paltim in Timișoara and the company has been selected as the general contractor of the project. 

Cordia has begun its latest large scale urban regeneration project, the revitalization of the site of the former Modena garment factory in Poznań, Poland. 

EPP has finalised the sale of its 70% stake in the Towarowa 22 mixed-use project in Warsaw to AFI Europe. It is historically one of the largest land transactions in Poland in terms of value, with the total plot value exceeding €180 million.

Investment group DRFG has acquired land near the main railway station in Olomouc (the eastern province of Moravia in the Czech Republic) in March this year and plans to build flats and commercial premises there. It plans to build a multifunctional residential complex with retail space and offices on this brownfield site with a total market value of CZK 2.6 billion and an area of 43,000 sqm by 2025. The architectural design of the complex is currently being finalised. DRFG Group informed about its new acquisition and construction plans in a press release today.

The city of Ljubljana is expected to see some major urban change by 2025. As it was announced last month, a huge mixed-use project will be built next to the city’s planned new transportation hub, including a hotel, a shopping centre, offices and apartments. The Emonika project, which has a long history, will be developed by Mendota Invest, owned by Hungary’s OTP Real Estate Investment Fund.
