Skanska opens second phase of residential project in Prague

Skanska has launched the sale of the second phase of Modřanský cukrovar, which will offer 126 apartments in four residential sections. The developer is applying sustainability principles in the construction and the planned construction of the apartment buildings is approaching the passive standard in the highest PENB energy performance category - A. Each apartment will already draw energy from photovoltaic panels on the roof and will be able to use recycled water. The developer expects to start construction this winter with completion expected in 2025.

All new Czech Horizon projects to be BREEAM certified

The Horizon development group has announced a commitment to build all new projects in accordance with internationally recognized BREEAM accreditation criteria for sustainable development. In 2024, projects to be submitted for BREEAM accreditation will include the Blízká project in Prague’s Karlín district, the third phase of Čámovka in Čimice, Arboret in Záběhlice, and both phases of the Aura Statenice project.

Prague to select contractor for EUSPA building

The Prague City Council has approved the intention to launch a tender for a contractor to be entrusted with the transformation of the unfinished torso of the Prague 8 City Hall building. The Nová Palmovka Centre will become the new European Space Research Centre (EUSPA). The city is preparing this project for the Ministries of Transport and Finance, with which it is cooperating intensively.

Proxenta completes resi project in Bratislava's centre

Proxenta's latest residential project, Kesselbauer, is being finalised these weeks. The luxury residence right in the centre of Bratislava has already completed all the construction works and only the landscaping in the courtyard remains. The project is now in the approval phase and the approval process is expected to be completed in a few weeks, real estate portal YIM.BA reports.

DRFG to build multifunctional complex in Brno

Investment group DRFG has announced the acquisition of the new multifunctional development project Tři Dvory, with a market value of CZK 1 billion (€42.3 million). The project will be located on the site of a former royal mill on the outskirts of Újezd u Brna, in close proximity to the Stara Hora vineyards. Construction is due to start in spring 2024 and final completion is planned for spring 2026.

Prague approves construction of 300 PDS flats

The Prague City Council has approved the investment preparation of the Beranka residential project in Prague Horní Počernice. The construction of 300 flats on an area of 63,000 sqm is being prepared under the management of the Prague Development Company (PDS). Architectural competition and tenders are being prepared. PDS plans to build between 2025 and 2030.

UDI Group plans to build retail centre near Prague

UDI Group is adding another project to its portfolio. It will build a suburban retail centre in the village of Líbeznice north of Prague. According to the developer, a similar centre with a supermarket and several smaller retail units at one address with quality parking facilities is still missing in this village of 3,000 inhabitants. UDI Group estimates the investment at CZK 100 million (€4.2 million).

Penta Real Estate enlarges landbank in Bratislava

Penta Real Estate announced the finalisation of their newest land acquisition in the centre of Bratislava. The company bought a 3-ha (30,000 sqm) plot of land that is bordered by Mlynské nivy, Chalupkova and Košická streets. The seller is HB Reavis. Both parties have agreed that the amount of the transaction will not be disclosed.

  • The Lux Med Group will join the ranks of the Fabryczna Office Park complex being developed by the Inter-Bud Group as part of the Fabryczna City project - an omni-functional investment being built on Aleja Pokoju in Krakow. The lease agreement between Lux Med Group and Inter-Bud Group was signed for over 1.7 thousand sqm.
  • The group of tenants of Dekada Nysa (southwestern Poland) is expanding. Family Pets & Zoo will occupy a 258 sqm showroom, where it will offer a wide selection of food, supplements for dogs and cats, cosmetics, toys and many other pet products.
  • Flexion Mobile Plc's Hungarian branch has chosen traditional long-term office leasing over previously used serviced office rental and is moving to the ZenGarden office building in Budapest.

New appointments

  • Romanian developer ARQA has named Alexandru Rădulescu as Chief Sales Officer. During his career, he has overseen the sale of 17 residential and mixed-use projects.
  • Multi Corporation appoints Ola Zajac as New Business Ventures Manager. Ola will be looking for new business expansion strategies and venture capital investment opportunities across Europe and will be based out of Lisbon.
  • Dominika Bombik has taken up the position of Marketing and Communications Director at BPI Real Estate Poland. She will be responsible for the creation and implementation of marketing activities for the residential property product portfolio and the developer's image on the Polish market.
