P3 expands in Central Poland

P3 has commenced work on a new 80,000 sqm warehouse at P3 Błonie park in Poland. A column raising ceremony to mark the start of construction took place on 1 December. The milestone marks the start of a new phase in the expansion of the park, which will see it grow from just over 196,000 sqm today to over 275,000 sqm.

Skanska prepares new projects in Warsaw

Skanska Property Poland has signed an agreement on the rights of perpetual usufruct, a right granting long-term use of real estate, on the land plot near Rondo ONZ in the business centre of Warsaw. Currently, the Ilmet office building is located on this plot. In addition, the company has bought the Warsaw One project, which was designed by the previous owner. In the transaction process the seller was advised by Knight Frank.

Prologis delivers BTS project in Central Poland

Prologis has completed the construction of a 22,200 square metre build-to-suit (BTS) facility for Arvato Polska leader in terms of complex outsourcing services at Prologis Park Stryków. CBRE facilitated this transaction. It is the second BTS project Prologis has launched this year at the park, and the third in Central Poland.  In the second quarter, Prologis started the construction of a 42,000 square metre facility for Agata at Piotrków Trybunalski and an 11,740 square metre BTS for German logistics operator Geis.

Prologis has begun construction of a speculative facility totalling 11,400 square metres at Prologis Park Wrocław V. Scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2017, the building is already 100-percent pre-leased, just one month after the start of construction.

Office developers get busy in Budapest

During the third quarter, three new office buildings were completed with a total area of 39,570 sqm – reports JLL in their latest Budapest Office Market Pulse. The increasing development activity has had an effect on the vacancy rate as well: the Budapest office market’s vacancy rate made a slight increase to 10.9% as a result of the vacant space in the newly completed buildings and in the buildings from where the tenants moved out.

New facility at CTPark Karviná ahead of schedule

CTP is nearing completion of phase I of a new 25,000 sqm production facility which is being constructed for a new client, UK-based Stow, one of the leading suppliers of added-value warehouse racking and storage systems. The company's core activity is the development and manufacturing of racking systems for the storage of palletised or small goods and longer items, as well as mezzanine structures.

New leases

  • BIPA, the drugstore brand of the German REWE Group, has opened the first store in Romania at Bucharest-based Mega Mall. The unit’s leasable area stands at around 370 sqm.
  • M1 Łódź, managed by EPP, has inked new and renewed leases for nearly 5,800 sqm of retail space. The most significant addition is the opening of a HalfPrice store spanning nearly 2,200 sqm.
  • dm-Pharmahandel, the Czech subsidiary of the German drugstore chain dm-drogerie markt, will open a specialised logistics centre for the distribution of over-the-counter pharmaceuticals at CTPark Bor. The company will occupy a nearly 7,100 sqm facility.

New appointments

  • Michał Stępień has joined MDC2 as Investment Director. He has over 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, gained at Savills, where he worked in teams dealing with valuation, research, and investment advisory. Over the last few years, he has focused on the industrial and logistics sector, advising on market strategy, asset positioning, and investment decisions.
  • Rob Jones has joined CTP as Head of Investor Relations and PR, having previously led the European Real Estate Equity Research team at BNP Paribas. Jones will be working closely with Group CFO Richard Wilkinson and Maarten Otte.
  • CTP Romania has named Bianca Liulea-Stamate as Marketing Specialist. She has previously worked at DB Schenker for more than seven years.
