CEE-based media and event platform Property Forum has promoted Fulvia Meirosu to the role of Country Manager for Romania, starting from January 2022. Fulvia will be in charge of client care in addition to being responsible for driving Property Forum’s expansion in one of its biggest markets.

Buyers of homes in Romania with a price of maximum €140,000 will pay a VAT of 5%, extending a facility that was applicable up to now only for residential units with costs up to €90,000, according to a government decision. 

Retailer Penny, part of German Rewe Group, has opened its fourth warehouse in Romania following an investment of €26 million. 

CTP Romania, the largest developer and owner of warehouses in the country, has more than 270,000 sqm currently under construction in Bucharest and regional cities, accounting for around 26% of all development underway at the group level. 

Irish clothing chain Primark has expanded the space it leases in CTPark Bor, the largest Czech industrial park. CTP, the developer and owner of the park, recently finished another warehouse for Primark, which will be fully automated, incorporating the latest robotic technology. In total, Primark leases approximately 80,000 sqm of Class A warehouse space in CTPark Bor.

A rapid growth in student numbers will drive demand for student housing in the next five years across all larger European university hubs – especially major Spanish and Italian cities, Savills forecasts. Also in Poland, prime PBSA occupancy remains high despite the pandemic and provision of student accommodation is expected to grow soon across Polish cities.

Trei Real Estate, an international developer and asset holder for residential and retail real estate, just opened another retail park of its Vendo Park brand in Radzymin, Masovian voivodeship, close to Warsaw. The total amount invested was €3.1 million.

Immofinanz announced its new Net Zero Emission Strategy. Plans call for a reduction of 60% (below the 2019 level) in all greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 – and by 2040, the company intends to be emission-free along the entire value chain.

Subsequent to the shareholders' decision in June 2021 to increase the company’s capital, GTC offered 55,000,000 O-series bearer shares. On the back of strong demand, the company eventually sold as many as 88,700,000 shares at PLN 6.40 per share, raising new capital of approx. €123 million. 

Property group Globalworth has obtained the WELL Health-Safety Rating for the entire portfolio of almost 500,000 sqm consisting of 15 office buildings in Romania.
