Warehouse developers are more cautious in launching new schemes

The highest ever 5.2 million sqm of warehouse space was leased in 2020 as a result of significant changes in consumer behaviour in this exceptional year. The industrial and logistics sector was the fastest to adapt to the new requirements linked with the COVID-19 pandemic, quickly adopting supply chains and ensuring health and safety to workers and customers. 2020 was also the year of rapid growth of all segments related to the e-commerce sector. Panattoni launched another 24,500 sqm warehouse by Wrocław

Panattoni is to launch its latest project in the Wrocław area. Panattoni Park Wrocław East will be built in Dobrzykowice – just off the city’s eastern bypass. By September 2021, the developer will have completed 24,516 sqm of class A warehouse space in one building, including 11,000 sqm for the world's leading manufacturer of cooker hoods for household use. This is to be the first such modern distribution facility on the eastern outskirts of Wrocław. It will be developed in line with the company’s ‘Go Earthwise with Panattoni’ concept and is to be BREEAM certificated at the ‘Very Good’ level.

GLP starts another logistics centre in Southern Poland

Poland's warehouse take-up breaks records in 2020

7R to build fully automated BTS project for Żabka

Construction of a fully automated center located in the vicinity of Radzymin, a town near Warsaw, started in mid-January of this year. The project for Żabka Polska, the largest convenience store chain in Poland, is set to be completed in 2022. The project will include a “high bay” storage facility with a height of 40 m. 7R is responsible for the investment’s development.

Another Panattoni Park launched near Kraków

Panattoni has launched its latest park in Poland’s Małopolska region. Panattoni Park Kraków East II will be situated on the eastern side of the Kraków conurbation, just off the Targowisko junction of the A4 motorway, and is to have an area of ​​almost 19,000 sqm. Panattoni’s presence in the region has since expanded to 4 existing projects with a total area of ​​100,000 sqm. As soon as late July or early August this year, the first tenant, Kenig Spedition, will be moving into 9,200 sqm of the complex, which will be used for logistics, service and production processes for its clients – manufacturers of pallets and packaging. The lease was mediated by consultancy Axi Immo.

7R expands its warehouses near Szczecin

Panattoni will build another 200,000 sqm near Wrocław

Panattoni is again investing in Lower Silesia. The developer has purchased 39 ha in Wrocław where it is to build Wrocław Campus 39, a massive industrial and logistics complex of almost 200,000 sqm. The project, which is to have direct access to the A4 motorway and the S8 expressway, is being constructed close to the buildings of Amazon and LG Chem Wrocław Energy. It will be the ideal location for e-commerce companies as well as firms in the electric vehicle sector. Work is to start in Q1 of this year.

New leases

  • A 200-square-metre Office Shoes store offering branded women's, men's, and children's footwear has opened in the Forum Gdańsk shopping centre. This is the chain's first shop in Gdańsk.
  • IWG has leased 906 sqm for a new Regus space in VOX Technology Park in Timișoara.
  • Auchan will open a new 7,000 sqm hypermarket at the end of next year in Sun Plaza, the shopping mall owned by CPI Romania. This move is part of a broader strategy to reposition Sun Plaza, which will undergo a phased modernization process starting in June. The space was previously leased by Carrefour.

New appointments

  • CBRE Romania has announced the promotion of Ramona Hîrnea to the role of Head of Investor Retail Leasing for its national operations. With over 22 years of experience in commercial space leasing, Ramona brings a comprehensive perspective on the retail market, gained both from her position as a consultant for property owners and as a representative of tenants.
  • Marcin Janik has taken up the position of head of the southern Poland region at CBRE. He will be responsible for Silesia, Małopolska and the previously serviced Wrocław.
  • GTC Group has appointed Miklos Egri as Chief Operating Officer. The new manager will be responsible for the company's day-to-day operational and administrative management in the Central and Eastern European markets.
