JLL is expanding its scope of hotel services in Poland. Agata Janda, who joined JLL at the beginning of 2018 as Head of Hotel Advisory, will be responsible for growing JLL’s involvement in this sector.

Union Investment has secured the future Holiday Inn Gdansk City Centre hotel at an early stage by way of a forward purchase agreement. The hotel will have 240 rooms and be located on Gdańsk’s historic Granary Island. Completion and the transfer of rights and obligations are scheduled for mid-2019. The project has been acquired for the portfolio of one of Union Investment’s institutional funds.

The Rezidor Hotel Group announced the signing of the Radisson Blu Hotel Timisoara. This takes the group's portfolio in Romania to four hotels. Radisson Blu and Mulberry Development will create an international upper upscale hotel in Timisoara, the main social, economic and cultural hub in Western Romania - and the European Capital of Culture for 2021.

The 145-room ibis Styles Budapest Airport Hotel, the first airport hotel in Hungary with a direct terminal connection, constructed in a development project by Wing, opened for business at the beginning of January. The 6,600 sqm hotel is located approximately 200 m from Terminal 2, and is connected to it by a covered walkway.

Intercontinental Hotels Group announced the opening of Holiday Inn Warsaw City Centre. Located on the border of Śródmieście and Wola at the junction of Żelazna, Złota and Twarda Streets, the hotel has 256 rooms.

Revetas Capital Advisors LLP and Cerberus Capital Management, L.P. and its affiliates announced the acquisition of Project Nemo, a leading hotel complex with approximately 86,000 sqm of gross leasable area in a prime location in Bucharest, Romania. The complex includes the Radisson Blu and Park Inn hotels, featuring a total of 697 guest rooms operated by the Rezidor Hotel Group, as well as approximately 7,500 sqm of prime retail space anchored by high-end tenants such as Burberry and Hugo Boss.

JLL has advised Elbit Imaging Ltd, a NASDAQ listed company, on the sale of the Radisson hospitality complex in Bucharest to a joint venture between two international investment funds. The sale represents the largest ever hotel transaction by deal volume in Romania and among the largest recorded in Central Eastern Europe.

CPI Property Group acquired three hotel properties in the Czech Republic and Hungary: a historical building in Český Krumlov, an existing hotel in Olomouc and an office building adjacent to a hotel in Budapest.

Starwood Capital Group has entered, through a controlled affiliate, into the sale and management back transaction to acquire the Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge Hotel from Orbis Hotel Group. The hotel is being acquired for €75 million.
