Genesis Property scored 70.8 points in the GRESB 2026 assessment, up nearly 7 points from the previous year and 13.8 points above its first participation in 2024. The Romania-based office developer has retained its "Green Star" status for a third consecutive year. The result, based on 2025 performance data, reflects investments in building operational performance, with the company exceeding GRESB benchmarks in energy efficiency, greenhouse gas emissions and water consumption.
According to its emissions inventory, Genesis Property reduced direct and indirect operational emissions by more than 44% against its 2019 baseline, from 5,310 to 2,963 tonnes of CO₂ equivalent, using the location-based method. The company has also completed its transition to electricity sourced entirely from renewables across its portfolio. Photovoltaic systems at YUNITY Park generated nearly 500 MWh in 2025, and further solar capacity is planned at West Gate Business District.
Buildings F and DE at YUNITY Park hold BREEAM In-Use Outstanding certification, while Genesis FM, the group's property management subsidiary, is the only facility management company in Romania registered under the European EMAS scheme, which requires systematic assessment and reporting of environmental performance.
"For us, the value of participating in GRESB lies not simply in achieving a higher score, but above all in our ability to measure progress and identify opportunities to improve the performance of our buildings. We continue to invest in energy efficiency, renewable energy and the modernisation of our portfolio, and the results of these investments must be tangible, measurable and transparent," said Ionel Purice, CEO of Genesis Property.
Participation in GRESB for the third consecutive year forms part of Genesis Property's approach to monitoring and improving ESG performance, enabling the company to benchmark its portfolio against international standards and base future investment decisions on verifiable data.
