The post-pandemic times are bringing many changes in the demands and expectations of clients. There is also a strong demand for better tools and resources. Therefore the Colliers Czech Republic appointed a new Head of the Industrial and Investment teams.

Last year the number of new green buildings and the "greening" of existing ones continued to grow dynamically in Budapest, Colliers reports.

After a very successful 2021, the Polish warehouse market continues to power ahead. In addition to the big five, new well-connected locations are coming up on developers’ radars. The growth of e-commerce continues to drive the construction of greener and more employee-friendly buildings. Challenges facing the market however include rising development costs, shrinking land banks and a dearth of warehouse workers. Newmark Polska asked the most active developers for their market projections.

Panattoni has started an 87,300 sqm BTS facility in Stargard in north-western Poland. The facility will be used by TEDi, a  German retail chain, which has over 2,500 stores in Europe. The project, which should be completed in October this year, will support the further development of TEDi in the country, where the company doubled the number of its outlets in 2021.

In the past twelve months, retail properties have tried to make up for the challenges faced in the first year of the pandemic. Summarizing 2021 for the modern retail space sector, experts from BNP Paribas Real Estate Poland pointed to several key phenomena regarding the sector, including: a quick return of shoppers to retail facilities, retail parks standing becoming stronger, e-commerce continuing the way of the stable growth, as well as the increasingly important role of sustainable development and ESG policy.

Stokvis Tapes Polska, a company offering innovative solutions in the field of glueing, insulating, joining, and protective materials, will move into the 7R City Park Gdańsk South II complex, currently under construction, in August 2022. Due to the expansion of its operations, the tenant will occupy approximately 11,500 sqm of warehouse and production space in the new location.

RSJ Group plans to build a multifunctional project in the historical centre of Prague in Revoluční Street near the Vltava River. The competition for the architectural design of the new building was won by Czech architect Eva Jiřičná, who lives in the UK. The developer is currently working on a plan to demolish the original building, E15 reports.

Property group NEPI Rockcastle, the biggest owner of shopping centres in Romania, has purchased a land plot of 17 hectares Galați for an undisclosed sum. 

Supersam, a mixed-use destination in Katowice which includes a shopping centre and office buildings, is undergoing a transformation. It will soon feature more office space as well as a new restaurant section. The Konior Studio led by Silesian architect Tomasz Konior is responsible for the redevelopment project. The work should be completed in Q4 2022.

The Česká Spořitelna Real Estate Fund (Nemovitostní fond České spořitelny) is buying the Bořislavka Centrum shopping and office complex from KKCG Real Estate Group. With the acquisition, the fund has increased the number of buildings under its management to 21 and the value of its real estate portfolio exceeds CZK 38 billion, REICO announced in a press release. The parties didn't disclose the transaction price.
