Today, global investment capital, looking for safe options on the real estate markets, focuses on housing. Poland is the target of the largest global companies investing in the PRS sector, says advisory company Walter Herz.

The developers of the Atria Urban Resort residential complex in Bucharest are currently planning the third phase of the investment. Around half of the apartments in the second development phase were sold and the whole project will be delivered by 2023. 

The third-largest provider of rental housing in Europe, Swedish company Heimstaden plans to almost double its investments into the refurbishment and expansion of its Czech portfolio.

Belgian property developer Atenor has started the construction of UP-site, its first residential project in Bucharest. The complex comprises 270 apartments in two residential high-rise buildings of 12 and 25 floors with a common ground-floor. The project is located in Floreasca, one of the city’s exclusive areas. 

Romania seeks backing from the European Union for the green rehabilitation and seismic consolidation of buildings. The country aims to receive €2.2 billion worth of EU funds as part of the recovery and resilience mechanism of the European Commission. The scheme deployed across Europe aims to kick start economic growth after the pandemic shock. 

Real estate developer Ionuț Negoiță acquired a land plot of 10 hectares in eastern Bucharest from industrial company Tubinox. The real estate investor says that this part of the city holds significant potential for the real estate industry.  

House prices in Romania went up by 2% in the fourth quarter of 2020 compared to the same quarter of the previous year, while across the European Union (EU) the average growth rate was 5.7%, according to Eurostat.

Nova Imobiliare, the owner of Colosseum Mall in Bucharest, plans to add a residential component near the retail project. 

Between 2010 and the second quarter of 2011, house prices and rents in the EU followed similar paths. Since the second quarter of 2011, they have followed very different paths: while rents increased steadily throughout the period up to the fourth quarter of 2020, house prices have fluctuated significantly, Eurostat data reveals.  

Construction works have started on the second phase of the Park West project of Wing's residential development division, Living, as announced in September 2020. Park West 2 is expected to be handed over at the end of the first half of 2023.
