Central Group plans hybrid nurseries in new Prague project

In its Nová Ruzyně project, it plans to build housing for more than 6,600 people and incorporate kindergartens directly into residential buildings. Central Group buys offices in Prague to use as refugee assistance centre

A complex of three Komerční banka office buildings with an area of more than 12,000 sqm has been bought by Central Group in Prague 9. These are non-residential premises that can serve as emergency facilities and space for NGOs assisting refugees in the current war situation in Ukraine. The developer informed about the offer of the complex on its website, along with information about stopping the sale of apartments to citizens of Russia and Belarus who do not reject the aggressive and barbaric actions of their countries towards Ukraine.

Central Group to build new residential district in Prague 3

The largest new residential district in the Czech Republic, which will be built on a brownfield site, is starting construction in Prague 3 in Žižkov. It could house up to over 5,000 people. The planned investment is estimated at CZK 20 billion. According to the plans of the developer Central Group, the first inhabitants could move in as early as 2024. The entire Park District should be completed within ten years, the developer plans.

Average Prague apartment now costs 14 annual salaries

The availability of housing in Prague has slightly improved this year, but it is still incomparably worse than in the surrounding metropolises. The inhabitants of Prague have to work 13.9 years for an average 70 sqm apartment. In Vienna, for example, such a purchase only cost 8.7 annual salaries. Compared to last year, a slight improvement was registered in 2020, but the effect of the coronavirus crisis has not yet been reflected in wage statistics, according to Czech residential developer Central Group.

New leases

  • A 200-square-metre Office Shoes store offering branded women's, men's, and children's footwear has opened in the Forum Gdańsk shopping centre. This is the chain's first shop in Gdańsk.
  • IWG has leased 906 sqm for a new Regus space in VOX Technology Park in Timișoara.
  • Auchan will open a new 7,000 sqm hypermarket at the end of next year in Sun Plaza, the shopping mall owned by CPI Romania. This move is part of a broader strategy to reposition Sun Plaza, which will undergo a phased modernization process starting in June. The space was previously leased by Carrefour.

New appointments

  • CBRE Romania has announced the promotion of Ramona Hîrnea to the role of Head of Investor Retail Leasing for its national operations.   • Marcin Janik has taken up the position of head of the southern Poland region at CBRE. He will be responsible for Silesia, Małopolska and the previously serviced Wrocław.
  • GTC Group has appointed Miklos Egri as Chief Operating Officer. The new manager will be responsible for the company's day-to-day operational and administrative management in the Central and Eastern European markets.
