Real estate group Immofinanz says it has reopened over 10,000 sqm of leasable space in VIVO! Baia Mare and added new retailers as part of an investment of €7 million in overhauling the shopping centre.

The former EuroCenter shopping centre, currently being rebuilt by Wing, will be renamed GOBUDA Mall after the renovation. The building will re-open in the spring of 2022 according to plans.

Property developer Mitiska REIM has opened a new retail park in Baia Mare and inaugurated an extension of another retail project in Mediaș. The development activity was carried out in partnership with Square 7 Properties. 

French real estate group Catinvest will add 5,500 sqm retail space, 1,200 sqm for a shared open-air terrace for the food court and a new playground of 500 sqm in Electroputere Mall, located in Craiova. 

Around 120,000 sqm in new and extensions of existing retail projects are under development in Romania with delivery estimated by the end of 2022, according to a report by real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield Echinox. 

Polish company Scallier will open its second retail park in Romania on November 11 as part of its expansion strategy on the local market.

Developers Square 7 Properties and Mitiska REIM have jointly opened Baia Mare Shopping Park with a commercial space of 17,500 sqm. 

Gdańsk based developer EDS Retail Park has won the bidding to buy six Tesco stores, which it intends to convert into retail parks with a total of 29,000 sqm GLA.

The inauguration of the extension of Colosseum Mall in northern Bucharest was pushed back by spring 2022 due to the health crisis.  

The figures describing the performance of shopping centres that Cushman & Wakefield has available (primarily for small to medium-sized centres in Czech regions) show a positive trend. Following the full reopening of shops in shopping centres this May and June, both revenue and footfall were higher than the figures from the same period last year and the trend carried over to the summer holidays. Compared with 2020, July revenue grew by 3% and August revenue by 11%. Compared with the pre-crisis year 2019, July revenue was 2% lower, but in August it was almost 7% higher.
