The past year has been an extremely intense one for the housing market. A series of events from another Covid-19 wave, the outbreak of war in Ukraine and the ensuing influx of refugees, to the acceleration of inflation, a tightening of credit scoring criteria, the increase in interest rates and the coming into force of the Law of the Developer's Guarantee Fund, have significantly affected the market. These changes will certainly continue to resonate in 2023. JLL experts summarize what the coming months may have in store for the housing market.

Katarzyna Zawodna-Bijoch, President and CEO of Skanska’s commercial development business unit in CEE has talked to Property Forum about the changing role of offices, skyrocketing energy prices and the incoming supply gap in the Polish office market.

Belgian developer Atenor says it has agreed on a bilateral promise with CEE-focused real estate investment manager Adventum Group for the sale of the office complex @Expo in Bucharest. The promise is under the suspensive condition of the signing of a share purchase agreement by the end of Q1 2023, Atenor announced in a press release.

Occam New Home, a subsidiary of investment-development group Occam Real Estate, concluded negotiations for the entry of a strategic partner in December. Slovak investment group Across acquired a 50% stake in the company through its subsidiary Across Properties.

December was the weakest month in 2022 in terms of sales and loans taken out to buy homes, local brokerage firm Duna House (DH) reports.

Immofinanz has significantly expanded its retail portfolio in the 2022 financial year. As a result of acquisitions and completions, the portfolio has grown from 111 to 169 locations in ten European countries over the course of the year, with a carrying amount of approximately €2.3 billion (excluding S Immo). Rentable space increased by nearly 30% to approximately 1.36 million sqm.
