YIT Czechia has launched Kattila Kamýk, a residential project in the Praha 12 district of Prague, where construction began in February 2026 and is expected to complete in autumn 2028. The ten-storey building rises on the site of a former heating substation belonging to Pražská teplárenská, which has been replaced by a modernised facility. The project was designed by studio Hlaváček a partner and features Scandinavian-style architecture with a façade enlivened by climbing plants.
The building will contain 73 units ranging from studio to four-room layouts, with sizes from 30 to 100 sqm. Every apartment includes a balcony, while upper-floor units feature a terrace with views. The development also provides underground and above-ground parking across three floors, storage facilities, and a ground-floor commercial unit suitable for a pharmacy or small shop. Studios and two-room units will be delivered with a fitted kitchen including appliances.
A rooftop community garden, divided into functional zones, will include a pergola terrace, an outdoor kitchen for barbecuing, a children's sandpit and planted greenery. On the sustainability side, the low-energy building will incorporate photovoltaic panels, heat recovery ventilation, a rainwater tank for irrigation and infrastructure for electric vehicle charging.
"We are pleased to be building a modern residential building in the increasingly sought-after Prague district of Kamýk, which will be built on the site of a former boiler room," said Dana Bartoňová, sales director at YIT Czechia, adding: "We believe the new building will appeal to individuals, couples and families who seek comfortable urban living in a quiet, green location. Kattila Kamýk also brings a community rooftop garden that adds another dimension to residential life."
The Kamýk neighbourhood offers shops, restaurants, medical facilities and schools at close range, as well as the Police Academy of the Czech Republic. Public transport connections are provided by regular bus services, and future metro line D is planned to improve links across the city. Residents will also have access to the Hodkovičky forest park, the Kamýk forest with a nature trail, cycling routes and the nearby Lhotka bathing lake.
