Unlike in the Czech Republic, developers in Poland can rely on the deadlines given by law which makes it a lot easier to do business. Marcela Fialková, Strategy Director of Czech-based developer UDI Group talked to Property Forum about the challenges and opportunities different markets in CEE offer.

Romanian property company Impact Developer & Contractor has obtained the construction permit for its Greenfield Copou residential project in Iași that will have a market value of around €175 million.

Developer Penta Real Estate is progressing in the construction of a new quarter in Bratislava Bory. The zone is gradually growing, with residential buildings, retail objects and necessary amenities being added. Czech investment group Enern and Lincoln Property Company, an American company operating in the European market including Slovakia, have started construction of a new office project in Warsaw called The FORM. The project was purchased by the new owners in 2021 from Penta Real Estate. Its financing includes recently issued bonds worth €30 million with an annual coupon of six and a half percent, which are managed and secured by J&T Bank. The bonds are listed and traded on the Bratislava Stock Exchange, trend.sk reports.

Hotel chain Hyatt has expanded its presence in Bulgaria with the recent opening of its second Hyatt Regency hotel. The Hyatt Regency Pravets Resort, previously part of the Spanish chain RIU Hotels, is now under the umbrella of Hyatt Hotels Corporation. This expansion follows the opening of Hyatt Regency Sofia in 2020.

Romanian medical equipment distributor Dentstore has expanded its leased warehousing capacity in CTPark Bucharest to 8,500 sqm in a bid to accommodate higher demand from Romania and Bulgaria.

Commercial real estate group Immofinanz has extended the appointment of Radka Doehring to the Executive Board for a period of five years. The mandate will run through to April 2027, according to a decision of the company’s Supervisory Board.

Sofia has experienced steady growth in its industrial space market during the first half of 2023. With a total stock of over 4.0 million sqm of ready-to-use space and an additional 252,000 sqm under construction, the city is witnessing an upward trend. These findings are part of the latest industrial report, issued by the real estate company MBL.
