2016 saw a total of 585,700 sqm of office space leased on the eight largest regional markets in Poland (Kraków, Wrocław, Tri-City, Katowice, Poznań, Łódź, Szczecin and Lublin). Wrocław accounted for 124,500 sqm of this overall volume. This excellent result meant that Lower Silesia's capital city was second among regional markets, after Kraków, in terms of office demand. Nearly half a million square meters of modern office space was delivered to the office market in the key Polish regional cities in 2016. The leader’s position was retained by Kraków, Lesser Poland’s capital, followed by, amongst others, Wrocław and the Tri-City. According to the report’s authors at BNP Paribas Real Estate Poland, current pipeline projects will also support the high growth dynamics in 2017.

Echo Investment has sold West Link to Griffin Premium RE, a new platform created by Griffin Real Estate. The companies have just signed preliminary agreements as a result of which Griffin Premium RE will control and ultimately purchase the Wrocław-based office building West Link and invest into Echo Investment’s commercial projects in Warsaw – Beethovena and Browary Warszawskie.

Savills has been appointed by Echo Investment to manage an 16,000 sqm office building, Nobilis Business House in Wrocław. The company has also been appointed to manage the 16-storey, mixed-use Wratislavia Tower on behalf of Cinema Tower Sp. z o.o. The 20,000 sqm property officially joined Savills portfolio in December 2016.

Danfoss Power Solutions, a manufacturer and provider of hydraulics solutions, has renewed its lease for more than 20,000 sqm of industrial, office and social space at Hillwood Wrocław I. The tenant was represented in the negotiations by Cushman & Wakefield.

Hammerson plc and its partners in VIA Outlets, APG, Meyer Bergman and Value Retail, have signed an agreement to acquire, subject to regulatory clearance, four outlet centres across Europe. The retail venues, located close to major cities in Germany, Portugal, Spain and Poland, represent total gross asset value of €587 million and a blended net initial yield of 5.5%.  The transaction takes the total size of the VIA Outlets portfolio to €1.1 billion across 10 assets.

Prologis has begun construction of a speculative facility totalling 11,400 square metres at Prologis Park Wrocław V. Scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2017, the building is already 100-percent pre-leased, just one month after the start of construction.

Cushman & Wakefield has been appointed by BPi Polska an exclusive agent for the mixed-use project Bulwary Książęce in Wrocław. Bulwary Książęce is located in the centre of Wrocław on Księcia Witolda Street on Kępa Mieszczańska island near Pomorski Bridge, in close proximity to the Old Town. It will contribute towards reviving the Odra Boulevard in this part of the city. The complex, which will be developed over two phases, comprises a retail and services part as well as 347 residential units, including premium flats and apartments.

The Dominikański office building, developed in Wrocław by Skanska Property Poland, has been recognized with LEED certification's highest level - Platinum. This is the second office complex in Lower Silesia's capital to “go platinum” in compliance with the most demanding office certification system in Poland. The first complex - Green Towers – was also developed by Skanska. The certification process for Dominikański was supported by Go4Energy. The building is owned by a fund managed by Union Investment Real Estate GmbH based in Hamburg.

Nokia Networks has leased an office area of over 7,000 sqm in the West Link building, which is being developed by Echo Investment on Na Ostatnim Groszu Street in Wrocław. OmniOffice has joined the group of tenants of the Q22 office building in Warsaw by leasing an area of over 2,000 sqm on the second floor.
