PwC has decided to extend its office space in Silesia Business Park in Katowice by over 2,000 sqm and plans to employ over 300 specialists. As a result, 100% of the leasable space in building A of the complex is leased now.

This year has witnessed new players entering Central and Eastern European markets which, when combined with investments from the region's traditional players, has further increased CEE investment activity. Colliers, Skanska and JLL has released a joint report that analyses the region’s potential as an investment location.

Skanska has laid the cornerstone for its third Kraków office project, High5ive. In the first phase of the project two buildings will be constructed by Q4 2017 with a GLA of 23,500 sqm. Upon completion the entire complex will offer 70,000 sqm of leasable space. 

Altium, an Australian owned international IT company, will launch its first office in Poland. The company has selected Silesia Business Park office complex in Katowice for its Poland-based operations. Altium has leased nearly 770 sqm of office space in the complex developed by Skanska Property Poland.

The Dominikański office building, developed in Wrocław by Skanska Property Poland, has been recognized with LEED certification's highest level - Platinum. This is the second office complex in Lower Silesia's capital to “go platinum” in compliance with the most demanding office certification system in Poland. The first complex - Green Towers – was also developed by Skanska. The certification process for Dominikański was supported by Go4Energy. The building is owned by a fund managed by Union Investment Real Estate GmbH based in Hamburg.

Skanska has laid the cornerstone under its fifth office development in Wrocław, Green2Day. The 17,000 sqm building is scheduled for completion in Q3 2017.

Romania and Hungary are seeing new capital flowing into their respective commercial real estate markets as a consequence of a significant yield spread between Western and Eastern Europe. Skanska has relased a new report, focuing on investment opportunities in the CEE region.

An expanding BPO/SSC sector does not just boost the economy but the construction market as well. Investment funds and real estate agencies point out that in CEE there is still a need for prime offices, shopping centers and logistics infrastructure. Skanska, JLL and Dentons, in cooperation with ABSL have published their latest CEE Investment Report 2016: Mission to Outperform.

HARMAN International and BASF Hungária Kft. has signed lease agreements with Skanska. The Swedish developer’s Nordic Light office building in Budapest now has preliminary lease agreements for 26% of its total leasable area. Colliers represented the tenants in the transactions, while CBRE takes exclusive responsibility for leasing Nordic Light.
