Mitiska REIM has today announced that following the successful completion of its value creation programme, it has completed the sale of Retail Park Młyn in Wroclaw to AB Tewox, an investment company managed by Lords LB Asset Management. The retail park was originally acquired by Mitiska REIM in July 2015 on behalf of the First Retail International fund (FRI).

MDC2  – a developer of warehouse and industrial space operating on the Polish market – announced a new key hire in their Development Team. Ewa Zawadzka was appointed a Director, Head of Development effective February 1, 2022.

After a very successful 2021, the Polish warehouse market continues to power ahead. In addition to the big five, new well-connected locations are coming up on developers’ radars. The growth of e-commerce continues to drive the construction of greener and more employee-friendly buildings. Challenges facing the market however include rising development costs, shrinking land banks and a dearth of warehouse workers. Newmark Polska asked the most active developers for their market projections.

Panattoni has started an 87,300 sqm BTS facility in Stargard in north-western Poland. The facility will be used by TEDi, a  German retail chain, which has over 2,500 stores in Europe. The project, which should be completed in October this year, will support the further development of TEDi in the country, where the company doubled the number of its outlets in 2021.

In the past twelve months, retail properties have tried to make up for the challenges faced in the first year of the pandemic. Summarizing 2021 for the modern retail space sector, experts from BNP Paribas Real Estate Poland pointed to several key phenomena regarding the sector, including: a quick return of shoppers to retail facilities, retail parks standing becoming stronger, e-commerce continuing the way of the stable growth, as well as the increasingly important role of sustainable development and ESG policy.

Stokvis Tapes Polska, a company offering innovative solutions in the field of glueing, insulating, joining, and protective materials, will move into the 7R City Park Gdańsk South II complex, currently under construction, in August 2022. Due to the expansion of its operations, the tenant will occupy approximately 11,500 sqm of warehouse and production space in the new location.

Supersam, a mixed-use destination in Katowice which includes a shopping centre and office buildings, is undergoing a transformation. It will soon feature more office space as well as a new restaurant section. The Konior Studio led by Silesian architect Tomasz Konior is responsible for the redevelopment project. The work should be completed in Q4 2022.

Apollo Rida has extended its cooperation with Savills and appointed the firm as its sole leasing agent for office space in Jerozolimskie Business Park in Warsaw.

Panattoni has begun constructing 8,700 sqm for InPost within the Central European Logistics Hub in Łódź. In 2021 alone, Panattoni completed logistics centres of nearly 100,000 sqm for InPost within eleven locations. Due to Panattoni’s completed projects both within city limits and on their borders, the end consumer receives quicker service including in small towns.

KGAL Investment Management GmbH & Co. KG has acquired the Fuzja Office I building in Łódź with around 22,000 square meters of rental space on behalf of a pan-European special AIF. The property is certified with the first-class sustainability rating "BREEAM Excellent" and is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2022. The seller of Fuzja Office I is Echo Investment S.A., one of the largest listed Polish property developers.
