One year after construction began, the rough construction of one of the future A1 office building in Prague's Rohan City project has been completed. Upon completion, the building will house the headquarters of Sekyra Group, the developer of the Rohan City project, among others. It is being built on a brownfield site on Rohanský island in Prague 8, which has been unused for many years.

The construction of the A1 office block began in the first phase of the Rohan City project in the summer of 2022 and is expected to be completed in the summer of 2024. The design of the iconic building was created by renowned architect Eva Jiřičná and architect Petr Vágner from the AI DESIGN studio. The building will be built on the future corner of Rohanský nábřeží and Invalidovna Park, which will be extended to the Vltava River as part of the project.

Sekyra Group is planning to move its headquarters to the eight-storey A1 building, which will occupy approximately 1100 sqm. "I am very excited that we will soon move into one of the most modern office buildings in Prague, which is also environmentally friendly. Moreover, it is situated in a location that has an exceptional genius loci thanks to its proximity to the Vltava River," said Leoš Anderle, CEO of Sekyra Group.

The building will comprise over 9,500 sqm of offices. Underground, there will be garages with chargers for electric cars and a wheelhouse with changing rooms and showers. The complex will also include three retail units and a restaurant. Several sustainability features will also be used in the building, such as LED energy-efficient lighting that responds to the ambient light intensity, heating with low heating elements located along the façade, and exterior blinds on the south façade. The building will be equipped with modern technologies to ensure maximum comfort for employees. The access system will allow the use of both standard cards and NFC or Bluetooth-enabled mobile phones for entry. Entry or exit from the garage will work on the principle of license plate recognition.

In the Rohan City project, Sekyra Group plans to build 380,000 sqm of mainly residential, but also administrative and commercial space. A modern district will be created here, including a kilometre-long coastal promenade for recreation and sports, which will be connected to a park. In the future, the promenade will be connected by footbridges to a leisure island. It is expected that 11,000 people will live or work in the new Prague district when it is completed. The total investment costs of the project, which will significantly change the face of the metropolis, will exceed CZK 20 billion (€832 million). The project should be fully completed by 2033.
