J&T Real Estate buys land in Prague

J&T Real Estate has purchased two hectares of building land on Rohanský island in Prague's Karlín district from the Rohan Consortium, in which Sekyra Group has a half share. In the future, J&T Real Estate plans to buy another two hectares and build the Nový Rohan district for CZK 15 billion (€613.5 million). The company did not disclose the specific price of the acquisition but said the value of one square metre exceeded CZK 20,000 (€818), ČTK reported, cited by online daily newstream.cz.

České dráhy sells land near Prague railway station for €82 million

České dráhy (ČD) sold the remaining part of the land at the Smíchov railway station in Prague for just under CZK 2 billion (€82 million). Over 126,000 sqm of land will be bought by the Sekyra Group. According to the Czech news agency (ČTK) Czech Railways said that it had received a total of CZK 2.4 billion (almost €98.6 million) for the Smíchov land. A new district of Smíchov City is to be built on the land.

Česká spořitelna and Kooperativa buy resi project in Prague

As it was unofficially confirmed last month, Sekyra Group has agreed with Dostupné bydlení České spořitelny and the insurance company Kooperativa on the sale of the Opatov II residential project in Prague 11. This is one of the largest build-to-rent (BTR) transactions in the Czech Republic, Sekyra Group announced. The price of the transaction was not disclosed.

Sekyra Group to move to new HQ in Prague next year

One year after construction began, the rough construction of one of the future A1 office building in Prague's Rohan City project has been completed. Upon completion, the building will house the headquarters of Sekyra Group, the developer of the Rohan City project, among others. Two investors buy project with 300 affordable flats in Prague

One of the first private-sector affordable housing projects in the Czech Republic, Opatov II with 300 flats in Prague 11 by developer Sekyra Group, has reportedly been sold. The transaction has not yet been announced by the buying parties, but credible sources have confirmed it. The transaction was also confirmed by an advisor to the selling party. According to the information available, part of the flats are to be acquired by the insurance company Kooperativa from the Vienna Insurance Group and part should be bought by Dostupné bydlení České spořitelny (subsidiary of Česká spořitelna bank) as the company's second housing project in Prague. The transaction amount has also not yet been disclosed.

New leases

  • A 200-square-metre Office Shoes store offering branded women's, men's, and children's footwear has opened in the Forum Gdańsk shopping centre. This is the chain's first shop in Gdańsk.
  • IWG has leased 906 sqm for a new Regus space in VOX Technology Park in Timișoara.
  • Auchan will open a new 7,000 sqm hypermarket at the end of next year in Sun Plaza, the shopping mall owned by CPI Romania. This move is part of a broader strategy to reposition Sun Plaza, which will undergo a phased modernization process starting in June. The space was previously leased by Carrefour.

New appointments

  • CBRE Romania has announced the promotion of Ramona Hîrnea to the role of Head of Investor Retail Leasing for its national operations. With over 22 years of experience in commercial space leasing, Ramona brings a comprehensive perspective on the retail market, gained both from her position as a consultant for property owners and as a representative of tenants.
  • Marcin Janik has taken up the position of head of the southern Poland region at CBRE. He will be responsible for Silesia, Małopolska and the previously serviced Wrocław.
  • GTC Group has appointed Miklos Egri as Chief Operating Officer. The new manager will be responsible for the company's day-to-day operational and administrative management in the Central and Eastern European markets.
