Romanian entrepreneur Ovidiu Budeanu has signed a franchise agreement with French hotel group Accor for the opening of a new 4-star Mercure Hotel in Bacău.

Romanian property holding Meta Estate Trust has signed a partnership with Rock Development Holding for a new property development in Poiana Brașov. 

Iulius Company opened the second Family Market project in the Bucium neighbourhood of Iași. Industrial and logistics developer Logicor has completed the development of another 23,000 sqm in the Bucharest I Logistics Park in Mogoşoaia, in northern Bucharest. 

Mega Mall, the shopping centre in Bucharest owned by NEPI Rockcastle, will be expanded with new stores and a residential component that will include around 180 apartments. 

GTC announced that Ziv Gigi has been promoted to Executive Director for the Southeast Europe region. In his new role, he will be responsible for all operations of the office sector in Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and Croatia. He will be in charge of executing the company's strategy and development plan, as well as all of its operational activities, including leasing and asset management. Ziv Gigi’s promotion is part of the company’s greater transformation to strengthen its country leadership to be more responsive to opportunities and challenges in local markets.

Over 52,000 homes were sold in Bucharest and its surroundings in the first ten months of 2022, up 9.16% compared with the similar period from 2021, according to data published by the National Agency for Cadastre and Land Registration.
