According to data from JLL, Poland's supply of mixed-use commercial space has increased nearly six-fold over the last ten years. Mixed-use projects often require major revitalization and reconstruction, in a number of Poland's major metropolitan areas. Such projects include Elektrownia Powiśle, The Warsaw HUB and Koneser in Warsaw, Monopolis in Łódź, and Browar Lubicz in Kraków.  

Peakside Capital has completed the comprehensive refurbishment of a recently purchased mixed-use property in Brno. The building has been rebranded to Centrum Vídeňská and has been given a new logo. The renovation mainly focused on improving the quality of the common areas.

One United Properties has obtained the building permit for the first phase of One Cotroceni Park, an 80,000 sqm Gross Lettable Area (GLA) business park.

Changes in the Polish office sector happen not only from a quantitative aspect but in qualitative terms as well. There is a growing interest in multi-functional projects on the market. The share of flex space, which is an interesting option for large tenants, is also increasing. JLL summarised the situation on the Polish office market at the end of Q3 2019.

Romanian real estate developer One United Properties has obtained the building permit for the One Verdi Park mixed-use project that will include office and residential units.

Companies Iulius and Atterbury Europe have opened the Iulius Town mixed-use project in Timișoara, the largest investment in the region, adding up to a total of €442 million. Iulius Town entailed integrating Iulius Mall Timișoara into an extensive urban regeneration project, completing it with retail, office and entertainment uses.

The reconstruction of Magazinului Bucuresti, the former universal shop located at the crossroads of Lipscani Street and I.C. Bratianu Boulevard in Bucharest, will be finalized by the end of this year. The new building will accommodate diverse concepts, from retail and services spaces to office, co-working or dining spaces. Colliers International Romania was assigned as exclusive agent for the leasing of the project.

AFI Europe has signed a pre-sale agreement with Plaza Centers N.V. for the acquisition of 75% of the shares in the Casa Radio Project, for the price of €60 million.

P3 will add a hostel and retail space to its existing P3 Bucharest Park development, located on the A1 motorway, creating the first mixed-use project on the Romanian market.

On the 30th of August 2019, Iulius and Atterbury Europe will open the first phase of the Iulius Town Timişoara project (formerly known as Openville), the largest real estate investment in the region, adding up to more than €220 million. This is the first mixed-use development in the west of Romania.
