P3 will add a hostel and retail space to its existing P3 Bucharest Park development, located on the A1 motorway, creating the first mixed-use project on the Romanian market.

On the 30th of August 2019, Iulius and Atterbury Europe will open the first phase of the Iulius Town Timişoara project (formerly known as Openville), the largest real estate investment in the region, adding up to more than €220 million. This is the first mixed-use development in the west of Romania.

Flow East has announced that its new development, currently under construction on Wenceslas Square, will be named "The Flow Building". The mixed-use project will offer nearly 15,000 sqm of Class A office space and 6,000 sqm of high-quality retail space upon its completion in 2020.

Following the recent takeover of the Sugarmaker Palace, UBM Development is preparing another large project, namely the Astrid Garden multifunctional complex, consisting of two parts – Astrid Offices and Astrid Residences. In the first stage, a five-storey office building will be constructed, followed by a residential complex of about 110 units the sale of which will be launched in the third quarter of 2020. The architectural form was designed by Bogle Architects, emphasising not only the modern look, lightness and airiness, but also the sensitive setting in the typical character of Holešovice.

Local developer Biggeorge Property has unveiled plans for a new city centre development in Budapest’s Óbuda district. The 5 ha project would include 1400 apartments and 10,000 sqm of commercial space upon completion. Handover of the first phase with 257 apartments in three buildings is scheduled for 2010.

International architectural firm BIG founded unveiled its plans for Towarowa 22, a 230,000 sqm mixed-use development in Warsaw’s Wola district at MIPIM. The owners of the project are EPP and Echo Investment

Cushman & Wakefield has become the new property manager for Myslbek, the iconic multi-purpose building owned by AEW. As part of Cushman & Wakefield’s international collaboration, its Polish office has become the manager of two major shopping and office centres in Poland, Klif in Gdynia, Klif House of Fashion and Klif Tower in Warsaw from the same owners. Both offices assume their property management duties in February 2019.

Decreasing supply of attractive land parcels combined with growing prices are directing investors' attention to areas with objects that require either demolition or revitalization. Multi-functional projects are still gaining popularity in Poland, according to JLL’s report.

AFI Europe Romania has signed a non-binding letter of intent with Plaza Centers for the acquisition of the majority stake (75%) of the Casa Radio, located in the centre of Bucharest. The value of the offer amounts to €60 million.

AEW’s Europe City Retail Fund has acquired a 3,000 sqm mixed-use building in the centre of Budapest for around €18 million. The sellers of the high street building were the Pallas Athéné Foundations, created by the Central Bank of Hungary.
