Atrium European Real Estate Limited has completed the purchase of the Wars Sawa Junior retail centre in Warsaw, Poland for €301.5 million. Following the acquisition, 84% of the company’s portfolio is located in Poland and the Czech Republic and includes four prime centres in Warsaw and two in Prague.

The Polish retail market maintains its momentum despite the partial Sunday trading ban. This year’s supply is expected to hit approximately 490,000 sqm, the highest annual level in the last three years. Of that total, 52% will be delivered in cities a population of more than 400,000 while 42% will be handed over in cities with a population of less than 100,000, according to Cushman & Wakefield’s latest report.

Goldman Sachs has purchased the Science Park office building in Budapest from an undisclosed buyer. CBRE represented the seller and Cushman & Wakefield advised the buyer in the transaction, the two firms announced on LinkedIn.

Plaza Centers N.V. has signed a pre-agreement for the sale of a land plot in Miercurea Ciuc, Romania for €1.55 million.

At the beginning of October, the total value of real estate investment transactions completed in Poland year-to-date exceeded €5 billion which is comparable to 2017's total. JLL analysed this year’s investment transactions conducted in the commercial real estate sector in Poland.

Slovenian retailer Mercator has sold 10 shopping centres with a total GLA of 108,800 sqm in Slovenia to Austrian Supernova Group for €116.6 million. Mercator will rent parts of the centres, the company said in a filing to the Ljubljana Stock Exchange.

Belgian industrial and logistics developer WDP has acquired the CTPark Cluj I logistic park from CTP. The park, which was delivered last year, is leased by retailer Profi.

JLL has advised the seller on the disposal of the K6 office building located in Budapest. The building was acquired by a Hong Kong private investment fund partnering with Wigan Acquisitions.

Despite geopolitical uncertainty and a slowing in the economic cycle, investment in the global property market has seen a significant rise of 18% year-on-year to a new record high of $1.8 trillion (2017: $1.5 trillion), according to the report of Cushman & Wakefield, which examines global commercial real estate investment activity, assessing cities by their success at attracting capital.

Echo Investment has signed preliminary sales agreements with Resi4Rent for four projects under development in Warsaw, Wrocław and Łódź for a combined price of €78.6 million (PLN 338.7 million). The four projects - Browary Warszawskie in Warsaw, Wodna in Łódź, Rychtalska and Kępa in Wrocław – will comprise 1,200 apartments altogether.
