Hungary to create flexible home office regulations

Employers may not unilaterally order employees to work from home even in case of a strong resurgence of coronavirus infections and this would require a mutual agreement under new remote work rules that can now be considered final. Home officing would also be supported by a lump sum payment of overhead costs to the tune of HUF 16,100 (around €45) per month, tax-free. There are, however, still question marks regarding health and safety issues, local daily Magyar Nemzet reports.

Cordia raises €105 million to finance its expansion strategy

Cordia International, the residential development platform of Futureal Group has successfully managed its second bond issuance on the Budapest Stock Exchange to finance its further expansion, predominantly in CEE. The developer raised HUF 36 billion (€105 million) in its latest transaction which was heavily oversubscribed by financial institutions and achieved a 2.46% yield. Last November Cordia successfully placed a HUF 44 billion (€305 million) 7-year bond at 3.82% yield.

New leases

  • Orbico, an European FMCG distributor, has extended its lease agreement for 1,030 sqm of office space in building B of ISOC-owned Silesia Business Park in Katowice. The tenant was represented by real estate advisory firm Cresa Poland.
  • Impact Developer & Contractor Romania announced the opening of an office in Iasi, in Moldova Center and the fifth one locally. The company will soon launch construction works on the Greenfield Copou residential project in the city.
  • The American insurance company Massachusetts Mutual Life (MassMutual) rented 1,700 sqm offices in Record Park in Cluj-Napoca, developed by Speedwell. The 15,000 sqm project reached an occupancy rate of 94%.

New appointments

  • JLL Romania consolidates its industrial team by recruiting Ciprian Sîrbu in order to provide Supply Chain services on the local market. Ciprian Sîrbu has over 10 years of experience in logistics, e-commerce, and industrial supply chain, completed by 7 years in which he worked in the IT field. His role within JLL is to provide advice to customers in streamlining the supply chain like the need for such services increases.
  • Simona Costache has joined Romanian developer One United Properties as Executive Director, Residential Sales. With 15 years of experience in real estate, Simona has been involved in sales, rental and facility management for residential developers in Bucharest.
  • Penta Investments has appointed three new Partners. Fabrice Dumontheil, Václav Jirků and Marián Slivovič have become co-owners and leaders of Penta. Fabrice Dumontheil has been with Penta since 2012. He is the CFO of the entire group, responsible for the strategic financial management of Penta group as well as for group IT strategy. Václav Jirků will be responsible for managing the healthcare investment portfolio as well as the international network of Dr.Max pharmacies. Marián Slivovič will primarily cover Penta's investments in banking and Slovalco, as well as in media projects in Slovakia and Czech Republic.
