Ștefan Tudos, Vice President of Genesis Property, talked to Property Forum about the hybrid future of work and the way in which the company’s flagship YUNITY Park office campus in Bucharest is covering emerging demands coming from companies and employees on sustainability and work-life balance.

"We have recently come across Steelcase's recent survey of 58,000 individuals from 11 countries, which has uncovered intriguing insights into what it will take to entice employees back to the office. Romanian developer Genesis Property says it is committed to achieving zero carbon emissions for the buildings in its portfolio by 2030. This will be achieved by investments in energy efficiency and production from renewable sources.

Romanian developer Genesis Property has completed the largest renewable energy project in an office park in Romania. The project consisted of the installation of more than 1,000 photovoltaic panels on an area of more than 4,000 sqm, in prosumer mode, on the office buildings’ roofs in YUNITY Park based in northern Bucharest, following an investment of €1 million.

Genesis Property is investing €50 million in YUNITY Park, a mixed-use project in Bucharest with co-working and co-living components. Darren Allen, Development Director of Genesis Property spoke to Property Forum about the office market amidst the adoption of hybrid working and investing in campuses with complex facilities for a new work and play experience.

Romanians want offices where they have options for networking and interacting both at work and in their free time, a trend that is increasingly visible around the world, according to a survey commissioned by local developer Genesis Property.

As Romania has eliminated all pandemic restrictions earlier this week, companies plan to increase the number of employees returning to the office in the near future.

More than 81% of Romanian employees surveyed by Genesis Property think they will be working in a hybrid or office-only system in 2022, while only 11% think their employer will still opt for the team to continue to work remotely starting January.
