Czech investment group Enern and Lincoln Property Company, an American company operating in the European market including Slovakia, have started construction of a new office project in Warsaw called The FORM. The project was purchased by the new owners in 2021 from Penta Real Estate. Its financing includes recently issued bonds worth €30 million with an annual coupon of six and a half percent, which are managed and secured by J&T Bank. The bonds are listed and traded on the Bratislava Stock Exchange, trend.sk reports.

Exyte Technology will lease 12,600 sqm at VGP Park Ústí nad Labem City as a new tenant. There will be 3 halls in total within the VGP Park, one will be finished this year, and the other two are being prepared.

Desk sharing is beginning to take root in Czech offices. Not only does it make office space usage more efficient, but it also offers employees greater comfort. In fact, companies usually invest up to half as much in standard, individual workstations as they would in traditional office layouts, reports Colliers.

YIT is the new owner of the Kuta Centrum office complex in Prague 4. In the future, the complex, renamed YIT Office Centrum, should be transformed into a residential complex, the CEO of YIT told online daily newstream.cz.

The latest plan by the Czech Ministry of Regional Development is to increase the parking capacity of new projects and tighten conditions for developers. It has presented its proposal to adjust the conditions for building parking in the Czech Republic, which experts say will increase housing prices, according to the online daily Seznamzprávy.cz.

Správa železnic (Railway Administration) has announced a tender for a contractor who will reconstruct Prague's oldest train station - Masarykovo nádraží - for CZK 3.2 billion (€134.6 million). The idea of the authority is that the contractor should be able to connect the historical spaces with contemporary architecture and at the same time that the comfort for passengers and trains should be significantly increased, according to the report by the Správa železnic.

CBRE Czech Republic has appointed Jakub Stanislav as Head of Investment Properties. Jakub Stanislav will oversee a team of four senior consultants and will be responsible for developing long-term strategies as well as building and developing client relationships. As part of his mandate, he will coordinate the purchase and sale of a wide range of commercial properties, from offices to logistics complexes and shopping centres to hotels.

Stefan de Goeij is joining the Cushman & Wakefield ESG team as a Partner. The sustainability and property management professional will lead the CEE team as Head of Sustainability & ESG as of July 2023.

Czech architect Eva Le Peutrec has designed about 25 skyscrapers and her portfolio includes dozens of other prestigious buildings from hotels to railway stations or a city designed for one million people. She also managed to succeed in China and has worked for the famous Italian family Lamborghini. About her experiences from these projects, Eva talked to Property Forum in an interview. 

Since the second half of 2022, Savills has seen an increase in demand from manufacturing companies for modern warehouse space in the Czech Republic, accounting for 57% of the total space leased in the first quarter of 2023. One of the reasons why demand from this sector is growing is "nearshoring", i.e., the shift of production from Asia back to Europe. During Covid-19, demand was significantly driven by the e-commerce sector, which at its peak in Q3 2021, accounted for up to 62%. However, over the last three quarters, e-commerce activity has declined significantly and, as of Q1 2023, is now at 6%. Given uncertain energy supply and costs, and thanks to government support of renewable energy, demand from this sector is also growing significantly.
