Accolade Group has announced the acquisition of a majority stake in the Karlovarská Business Park complex near Prague Airport from Czech real estate fund Conseq realitní. Accolade is now 100% the owner of this complex. Both parties have decided not to disclose the amount of the transaction, which was brokered by CBRE.

Construction of one of the largest logistics projects in Croatia is entering its next phase. Development company RC Europe Group from the Czech Republic has started construction work on the RC Zone Samobor project in the Bobovica economic zone. The total land area of 170,000 sqm will feature an 86,000 sqm warehouse facility intended for leasing. In line with the tenants’ requirements, the space in the future logistics park can be used for storage, production, or office operations.

UDI Group has opened the fully completed Sázava Logistics Park on the D1 motorway near Ostředek in the Central Bohemia Region. The construction of the complex, which offers 50,000 sqm of space, required an investment of CZK 1 billion (€42 million). Approximately 300 employees have found work in four plants. The group is currently building another similar facility, which will offer 130,000 sqm of space in three halls. The investment is worth CZK 3 billion (€126 million).

There is growing interest in mixed-use projects in the Czech Republic. These are spaces that combine offices, shops, housing, and various forms of social activities. Unfortunately, the construction of such spaces in the Czech Republic still lags behind that in neighbouring countries. The main reason for this is the very long building permitting processes. In Poland, for example, it takes only a few months to get a building permit, whereas here it usually takes years.

Skanska has launched the sale of the second phase of Modřanský cukrovar, which will offer 126 apartments in four residential sections. The developer is applying sustainability principles in the construction and the planned construction of the apartment buildings is approaching the passive standard in the highest PENB energy performance category - A. Each apartment will already draw energy from photovoltaic panels on the roof and will be able to use recycled water. The developer expects to start construction this winter with completion expected in 2025.

Internet retailer Amazon has opened its new robotic distribution centre in Kojetin, Přerov region, where it plans to employ up to 2,000 workers. This is Amazon's second distribution centre in the Czech Republic, but the new one is equipped with the most advanced robotic technology, the Czech News Agency (ČTK) reported.

Wood is a building material that experts believe has a great future for many reasons. Firstly, it plays a significant role as a renewable material it is also a key in mixed-use buildings and contributes significantly to ESG or carbon neutrality targets. Thus, the demand for wooden buildings and prefabricated wooden products is not decreasing, quite the opposite, says Martin Skalický, Chairman of the Advisory Board at Progresus Invest Holding in an interview with Property Forum.

The Horizon development group has announced a commitment to build all new projects in accordance with internationally recognized BREEAM accreditation criteria for sustainable development. In 2024, projects to be submitted for BREEAM accreditation will include the Blízká project in Prague’s Karlín district, the third phase of Čámovka in Čimice, Arboret in Záběhlice, and both phases of the Aura Statenice project. 

CPI Property Group has announced the acquisition of a 25% stake in CleverPower. The company focuses on corporate energy self-sufficiency and electromobility and also operates the Chargee charging platform. By 2030, they will build up to three thousand new charging points not only in the Czech Republic, CPI Property Group announced today.

Industrial investment volumes in Europe declined by 49% quarter-on-quarter, which was a 73% decline compared to Q1 2022. The Czech Republic is one of the three countries that has recorded the smallest decline in investment volumes year-on-year, Savills reported in the latest European Logistics Outlook.
