AFI Europe's AFI Karlín office complex in Prague has announced the arrival of new tenants. A law firm is moving its team here, and a media and entertainment company is going to open a development centre for its streaming video service in the building.

The modern, developer-led warehouse stock in the Czech Republic has reached 12.02 million sqm in the second quarter of 2024. Approximately 117,500 sqm were delivered to the market within 11 industrial parks. Industrial Research Forum has announced industrial market figures for Q2 2024.

Although the market situation is stable and positively influenced by the gradual reduction of construction costs in combination with yield stabilisation, recently the vacancy rate has slightly increased and two new phenomena have emerged on the market.

UBM Development Czechia has received the building use approval for the Astrid Garden residential project in Prague's Holešovice. The new owners are moving in in the autumn of 2024.

This year in March Passerinvest Group has opened the Roztyly Plaza office building, which, in addition to administrative areas, is offering 1,600 sqm of commercial space on the ground floor, and another 700 sqm dedicated to a canteen with a cafe. The commercial units located on the ground floor of the seven-floor building are now fully leased. 

AEW has announced the BREEAM New Construction ‘Outstanding’ award with a score of 88.1% for its recently completed 36,400 sqm brownfield logistics development, “the Platform” in Pilsen, Czech Republic. 

Drees & Sommer has released its Innovation Scouting Report 2024 this week. This year, in terms of technology trends and relevance, Trend Radar1 has placed AI first with 23.4%, big data analytics second with 15.3%, and Internet of Things (IoT) third with 11.9%, followed closely by cloud computing and digital twin.

Nearly a third of buildings on Prague’s office market are over 20 years old. This has posed a problem for many occupants because, in terms of buildings’ sustainability, they are not meeting their ESG targets.
