BTS warehouses are very popular with logistics companies and retailers, and e-commerce in particular, where time is of the essence. That’s why locations with convenient transport connections and proximity to motorways or expressways are clearly favoured. Jakub Kurek, Head of Industrial and Warehouse at Newmark Polska described the advantages and challenges of BTS facilities in the warehouse market.

Panattoni has begun building work on Panattoni Park Szczecin IV, which is to comprise 40,000 sqm. The project’s space has already been leased out to a furniture company from the TSL sector. 

Panattoni has developed a 10,000 sqm building for Solaris Bus & Coach. The warehousing facilities for the factory in Bolechowo. The opening was held on September 29th.

Panattoni has begun construction in Sulechów of nearly 90,000 sqm for BestSecret - European members-only online destination for premium and luxury off-price fashion. The cornerstone laying ceremony took place on September 15th. 

Panattoni built and is leasing a new, custom-fit facility to Corning Incorporated, a manufacturer of low-loss optical fibre. The facility is located in Mszczonów, a city near Warsaw, and is more than 20,000 sqm. It was customized to meet Corning’s specific manufacturing requirements for low-loss optical fibre production and to meet demand for high-speed connectivity in Europe and surrounding regions.

Panattoni is launching its latest project in Western Poland, close to the border with Germany. The developer has just purchased a plot in Żary, not far from the E36 route connecting Berlin with Lubuskie province. Panattoni Park Żary will comprise 15,000 sqm, of which 8,000 sqm is to be built as a BTS project. This has already been leased by an international producer of polyurethane foam for (among others) the furniture industry. The company will begin operations in its new premises in the second quarter of 2023. The project is being built to qualify for BREEAM environmental certification at the ‘Excellent’ level.

Panattoni has completed a BTS project for Solaris Bus & Coach in Bolechowo. The 10,000 sqm warehouse has been built next to the company’s existing factory and will play a key role in the parts and sub-assembly supply chain for the production of Solaris vehicles. The buildings have been connected with roads and utilities and Panattoni has additionally reinforced the roof to mount 260 kWp of solar cells.

Propco, a developer focused on small warehouse facilities, has finalised a property development deal for DPD Polska Sp. z o.o. The BTS facility will be built in Boleslawiec, and will provide a total of 2,500 sqm of cross-dock space. It is the first project carried out for DPD Polska as part of a development programme of regional small-format last-mile logistics facilities. Construction of the facility has already begun, while the space is scheduled to be handed over to the tenant for use at the turn of 2022/2023.

Panattoni has started the construction of the first Polish logistics centre for Hermes Fulfilment. The investment is being built in Iłowa in Western Poland. The 150,000 sqm project will be one of Hermes’ largest hubs in Europe and is to provide employment for around 1,900 people. The company is planning to open the centre by the end of 2023 following an investment of around €300 million.

7R has built a BTS format warehouse in Goleniów for FIEGE, a European logistics operator. From the end of March FIEGE runs in Goleniów an international distribution centre, on an area of nearly 62,500 sqm, for a well-known global e-commerce giant.
