Western European investors have been the most active buyers of real estate assets in Romania over the past five years, making placements of €1.75 billion, according to data from Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.

The real estate and construction sector was the most active in terms of the number of M&A transactions in Romania during 2024, accounting for 28% of the total market, which reached an estimated value of between €5.7 and €6.1 billion.

On the right bank of the Danube, new neighbourhood developments have been underway for several years. JTRE is preparing the Nové Lido and Penta Real Estate the Southbank project. Henderson Park and EPP have successfully secured a €148.6 million loan from Berlin Hyp AG and PKO Bank Polski to refinance a Polish office portfolio. The three assets, which comprise the Malta Office Park in Poznań, the O3 Business Campus in Kraków and the Symetris Business Park in Łódź, are owned in joint venture by Henderson Park and EPP.

GTC has summarized its performance in Poland in 2024. The company achieved satisfactory results in the commercial sector, leasing 93,000 sqm, marking the best performance of the last decade. GTC's shopping centres also reported equally good operational results - tenant-generated turnover increased by 13% year-on-year, while the number of visitors exceeded 13 million.

CPI Europe Group (formerly known as Immofinanz) is selling an office and retail complex in the Slovak capital to WOOD & Company, thus taking another step in its strategic portfolio optimisation. The property portfolio comprises two myhive office buildings, a VIVO! shopping centre and a 3,200 sqm plot of land with potential for residential development.

Arcona Property Fund investing in Central and Eastern Europe has acquired a plot of land in the centre of the capital of Ukraine for approximately CZK 50 million (€2 million), Newstream.cz reports.

TSH Investment, a joint venture between Bulgarian investment companies Trinity Capital AD and Hus Invest EAD, has purchased shopping mall Park Center Sofia  from Revetas Group, for an undisclosed sum.

PPF Real Estate Holding has diversified its footprint in the US property market with an investment in Gasworx, a mixed-use development in Tampa, Florida. The multi-phase project is designed to connect Tampa’s historical Ybor City with downtown districts and transform a currently underused area.
