Unprecedented optimism in the Hungarian hotel market

The Hungarian hotel market is characterised by optimism, which can be observed in both the development and investment markets. Investors in Budapest are planning to begin multiple projects, the capital will soon be see projects with some 600-800 five star and 1000-2000 four or fewer star rooms. Several projects are likely to manifest in the countryside too, where booking and income-profit indicators show a significant increase and provide developers with motivation.

New leases

  • Smurfit Westrock, a company active in the packaging industry, has decided to extend its lease agreement and expand its office space at Quattro Business Park in Kraków. The company now occupies 1,713 sqm on the first and second floors of Building D.
  • Igepa Polska, a distributor of paper, printing machines and media, has decided to renegotiate the terms and conditions of its lease for 3,700 sqm of warehouse space in Panattoni Park Poznań IX (western Poland). The transaction was facilitated on behalf of the tenant by Newmark Polska.
  • AND2 office building, the tallest building in Poznań (western Poland), is gaining a new tenant. BeIN Offices will offer ca 3,300 sqm of coworking space with a view of the city skyline.

New appointments

  • At the beginning of February, Michał Chodecki became the head of the Warehouse & Logistics department of Savills Poland. The new director is responsible for the strategy and direction-setting of this business line and building relationships with key clients.
  • CTP has appointed Andrei Marian, who brings nearly nine years of experience in real estate development and consultancy firms, as its new Regional Business Development Director in Romania.
  • Maciej Müldner has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of MLP Group. An experienced executive, he has spent nearly 20 years contributing to the development of the Skanska Group in Central Europe.
