The Commons co-working space chain announces an increase in requests for office rentals in the centres in Bucharest, both from freelancers and small and medium-sized companies.

The Q4 2020 results of the RICS Global Commercial Property Monitor continue to point to a challenging backdrop across Europe. Both the office and retail sectors remain under significant pressure, with demand still falling sharply amid the difficult economic climate induced by the pandemic. On a brighter note, supported by structural tailwinds, the industrial sector continues to defy this downbeat overall assessment, prompting respondents to upgrade expectations for rental and capital value growth.

The pandemic year turned out to be a bumper year for industrial and logistics, with total demand increasing by a staggering 72% over 2019, to nearly 784,000 sqm of leasing deals, Colliers International Romania data shows.

eMAG announces that in the summer of this year, an area of ​​100,000 sqm will be put into use from the industrial park from Joiţa, at km 19 of the A1 highway, which will have a total area of ​​130,000 sqm. Bucharest-listed Impact Developer & Contractor closed the year 2020 with revenues from the sale of real estate properties worth €42.7 million, up 29,4% compared to 2019, representing the best result of the developer in the last decade. In a pandemic year, the company sold a total of 369 units (31,191 sqm built area), out of which 205 were contracted in Greenfield Residence Băneasa and 164 in Luxuria Residence compound.  

The local market for logistics and industrial spaces accelerated expansion in 2020 both in terms of demand, which approached the threshold of 1 million sqm, and in terms of deliveries of new spaces, which reached an area of ​​649,000 sqm, both indicators reaching new records, according to real estate consulting company Cushman & Wakefield Echinox.
