Representatives from Panattoni and Media Expert, the owner of several hundred electronics stores in Poland, together with Hanna Zdanowska, the mayor of Łódź, on Friday - September 2nd - formally opened the latest section of the Media Expert logistics centre within the Central European Logistics Hub. Two buildings with an area of 160,000 sqm, one of which has just been handed over for use and the other to be completed within a year, have been connected to Media Expert’s pre-existing building to create a nationwide distribution complex. Together, the three buildings take up 232,000 sqm and are to provide employment for around 1,000 people. The total area leased by Media Expert from Panattoni across the Łódź region already comes to over 270 000 sqm with a further 35,000 sqm under construction.

Panattoni has started construction of Panattoni Park Nadarzyn II. The development is being built on a site of almost 20 ha and will take up almost 100,000 sqm.

The industrial and logistics market has not been directly influenced by the Ukrainian war, but inflation, rising interest rates and changes to our supplier-customer relationships are affecting it indirectly, says Accolade Group CEO Milan Kratina. Nevertheless, he thinks that there are still a lot of aspects which haven’t changed for a long time, such as the shortage of warehouse and manufacturing space or the ongoing trend of nearshoring. And all of this is raising the demand for a more self-sufficient Europe.

The net profit of logistics developer VGP was €153.1 million for the first six months of 2022. The first half of the year came up with €35.4 million worth of signed and renewed lease agreements, which annualised means €281.1 million of the total rental income and another €88.1 million of the annual rent is expected from 40 projects with 1,346,000 sqm under construction that are almost totally pre-let (87.4%). VGP published the results at the end of August.

Bufab Hungary Kft, a subsidiary of Swedish-based Bufab Group leased nearly 2,000 sqm of warehouse and office space in LogiCube Park in Biatorbágy, near Budapest. 

The Delta Trans Group, a provider of logistics services with over 30 years of presence in the Polish market, has renegotiated and expanded its lease to around 17,000 sqm of warehouse and office space in Ruda Śląska in a property managed by Savills Investment Management. The tenant was advised during the renegotiation process by experts of real estate advisory firm Newmark Polska.

VGP has concluded a lease agreement with Pilulka Lékárny for 4,479 sqm of warehouse space in the newly completed hall "I" in VGP Park Olomouc. The company is one of the largest pharmaceutical and pharmacy groups in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The warehouses in Olomouc will be used for supplying customers in several regions: Brno, Ostrava, Olomouc and Prostějov. The new premises have been implemented in the BREEAM Very Good green certification.

Around 500,000 sqm of logistics spaces have been leased in Romania in the first semester of the year, up 38% compared to the same period of last year, with the largest pre-leased surface of almost 88,000 sqm secured in Prahova County, according to property consultancy CBRE Romania. 

Accolade has completed its first photovoltaic power plant in its Bydgoszcz industrial park. This is a significant milestone in the group's long-term strategy toward energy security in its industrial parks in Europe.

MLP Group has published its ESG strategy. The company intends to set high environmental standards in the logistics and industrial property sector. Respect for nature and care for the natural environment are to be the cornerstones of the activities carried out by the Group, which is developing a network of urban logistics parks in the Polish, German, Austrian and Romanian markets. MLP Group has set itself a goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2026.
