Penta Real Estate is selling the fully occupied coworking centre "Base", which is part of the Churchill office complex in Prague 2, to Scott.Weber Workspace, a company continuing its expansion in the Prague flexible office market. Neither party would comment on the size of the deal, online daily newstream.cz reports.

At the beginning of the pandemic, it seemed that many coworking centres or serviced offices could not survive the measures implemented under the Covid-19 pandemic. Shared workspaces, whose philosophy is based on meeting, personal communication, and collaboration, were hit hard by governmental restrictions. But a December analysis by JLL shows promising results; with the retreat of anti-pandemic measures, most coworking and serviced office operators have already felt a new wave of interest, and 2022 has confirmed this trend.

CEE-based flex office provider New Work has opened a new location in Prague. New Work Smichov Business Park offers fully furbished office space with up to 245 workstations in one of Prague’s most lively areas, with many offices and an outside terrace overlooking the Vyšehrad castle as well as beautiful green areas along the Vltava River.

Austrian property investor Immofinanz has opened its first coworking space in Bucharest, under the mycowork brand, the flexible office component of myhive.

Flex office provider Mindspace secured a funding of $72 million. The investment round is intended to support the continuation of the company's growth and its further expansion in Europe, the United States and Israel. The round was led by Harel Insurance Investments and Financial Services Ltd., More Provident Funds, Arkin Holdings and existing investors. Existing investors include Yoav Harlap, Kobi Rogovin and Globalworth.

Close to 88% of the employees in Romania believe that offices will exist in the future, but most say that the post-pandemic workspace needs to be transformed, according to a survey commissioned by Genesis Property.

Savvy hotel operators could harness the remote working trend and adapt their space to deliver a ‘hybrid hospitality’ concept to generate an additional source of income. Colliers International, predicts that where hotels provide office space to enable co-working and interacting, turnover could be increased by up to 20 percent.
