In accordance with its business strategy - consisting in allocating capital to the most promising markets, which will underpin sustainable results in the future, Orbis has signed a purchase agreement for the plot, building and the business related operations in Mercure Bucharest Unirii for €11.35 million.

Orbis Hotel Group signed a sale and management back agreement with Budapest-based Novoop Ingatlanüzemeltető Kft. for the Novotel Szeged hotel. As part of the transaction, the hotel was handed over to the new owner on the 9th of May, to be continued to operate under the “Novotel” brand by Orbis in the frame of a long-term management agreement for 15 years.

Macedonia’s first Mercure Hotel opened in in the centre of Tetovo. The hotel is located in a modern high-rise building with 13 floors, which accommodates a total of 101 rooms.

Orbis Group, the Eastern European partner of AccorHotels, has officially opened its first three-star ibis Styles hotel in Romania, in the city of Arad, together with its local partner and investor FAB Industry.

The 145-room ibis Styles Budapest Airport Hotel, the first airport hotel in Hungary with a direct terminal connection, constructed in a development project by Wing, opened for business at the beginning of January. The 6,600 sqm hotel is located approximately 200 m from Terminal 2, and is connected to it by a covered walkway.

Starwood Capital Group has entered, through a controlled affiliate, into the sale and management back transaction to acquire the Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge Hotel from Orbis Hotel Group. The hotel is being acquired for €75 million.

Polish hotel group Orbis, the CEE partner of French group AccorHotels, has signed a management contract with local company Constructii Erbasu S.A. for an ibis Styles hotel in the northern part Bucharest.

Swissôtel, part of AccorHotels, has entered into a franchise agreement with Al Shiddi International for the development of a new 218-room urban resort scheduled to open in early 2018. Situated next to Bosnian Parliament, within the mixed-use Sarajevo City Center project, consisting of shopping mall and office tower, Swissôtel Sarajevo will be located in the Bosnian capital’s centre.
