More than 50,000 new mortgage loans were granted in H1 2025, marking the best first semester in the last five years, according to an analysis by Ipotecare.ro and SVN Romania | Credit & Financial Solutions. 

Finep has launched the sale of two residential projects in Bratislava, Danubius Two, the developer's tallest building in history, and Danubius Lofts, housing in a renovated historic Cvernovka factory building.

Geosan Development is moving its largest residential project to date, Re.Start Petynka, to another milestone. The residence is developed on a long-unused plot of land near the Petynka swimming pool in Prague 6. Now it has received a valid building permit.

The residential market in Bucharest and Ilfov saw a 10% drop in the number of transactions during H1 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, while sales prices have continued to climb, driven by high inflation, anticipated tax changes, and limited supply, finds a new analysis by iO Partners.

The increase in VAT to 21% for new homes is having a direct impact on pricing and sales strategies in the residential market, with effects already becoming visible, according to Valentin Neagu, Managing Director at Crosspoint Real Estate.
