Czech industiral market shows record-low vacancy

According to JLL, at the end of Q1 2016, the total modern A-class industrial stock in the Czech Republic (owned by developers and investors) stood at 5.78 million sqm. In the first three months, new supply reached 84,300 sqm, increasing by 112% y-o-y (Q1 2015 vs. Q1 2016). With another 271,200 sqm currently under construction, the 6 million sqm mark of total stock is expected to be passed in the second half of this year. The share of speculative construction increased, nearly half of the industrial premises currently under construction (44 %) being developed on a speculative basis. Developers reflect the lowest vacancy rate in the last decade, strong demand from the potential tenants and a generally positive economic outlook for the Czech Republic.

New leases

  • Business Services Center, a networking organisation for Polish entrepreneurs under the banner of BNI, BNI+ and Corporate Connections, has joined the group of tenants in the DL Tower building in Katowice. The company will occupy a space of 240 sqm.
  • Logistics operator CAT LC will occupy 9,000 sqm of space at the Śląskie Centrum Logistyczne Sosnowiec III. The company is part of the international Groupe CAT.
  • Intense Group has joined the group of tenants at the Vinci Office Centre. The Polish manufacturer and supplier of IT solutions will occupy approximately 700 sqm of space in the Kraków facility.

New appointments

  • STERENN, a consultancy firm specializing in hospitality market entry and real estate asset sourcing, proudly announces the addition of Bryan Wilson to its Advisory Board. Bryan Wilson brings a wealth of expertise in real estate transactions, particularly within the hospitality sector. He co-founded Wilsons, a prominent law firm in Prague, and is a UK-registered lawyer and now heads up the CEE region for DUAL Asset, transactional risk insurers.
  • MLP Group’s management team has added new members - Katarzyna Misztal (Leasing Manager), Paweł Reszczyński (Senior Land Acquisition Manager), Zuzanna Pukaluk , Mateusz Sobczak (both a Project Managers) and Szymon Grochowski ( Land Acquisition Manager). In their new roles, they will be entrusted with land acquisition and preparation for upcoming projects, oversight over construction and project work, space commercialisation and tenant relationships.
  • Zuzanna Paciorkiewicz, PhD, has been appointed as Head of Asset Services CEE at Cushman & Wakefield following her tenure as Co-Head with Ondřej Fukal.
