Croatia’s hotel sector continued to expand in the first half of 2025, supported by rising tourist arrivals and ongoing investment in hospitality infrastructure, according to CBRE’s latest market report.

CBRE has reported almost €1 billion in hotel transactions across Central and South-Eastern Europe over the past year, alongside around 20 operator search and selection processes, according to its Hotels CEE team. Notable transactions included the sale of Hilton Prague, one of the largest single-asset hotel deals recorded in the region.

The Accor hotel chain has announced the opening of its first international brand hotel in Alba Iulia. The new Mercure hotel is the tenth under this brand in Romania.

Although the hotel sector accounted for only 3% of the total investment of €390 million in Romania’s commercial real estate during H1 2025, market indicators point to a possible increase in investments in H2 2025 and 2026, according to CBRE Romania data.

A coalition of over 10,000 hotels across Europe has initiated a class‑action lawsuit in the Netherlands against Booking.com, alleging that the platform’s now‑banned “best price” or rate parity clauses violated EU competition law between 2004 and 2024. These clauses prohibited hotels from offering lower prices through other channels or on their own websites, which the European Court of Justice ruled unlawful in September 2024

The Radisson Collection luxury brand has made its debut in Hungary with the opening of the Radisson Collection Hotel, Basilica Budapest. 

Local developer EnVogue Residence will include a Hilton Garden Inn hotel in the final construction phase of the EnVogue Residence – Iuliu Maniu project. The hotel will be part of a new, two-section building whose structure has already been finalised.
