Two hotel developments by Wing, the Ibis & Tribe Budapest Stadium Hotel and the Tribe Budapest Airport Hotel, have obtained BREEAM certification. The dual-branded Stadium Hotel is the first hotel in Hungary to achieve the highest rating, the BREEAM In-Use "Outstanding" category, joining only four hotels worldwide that hold this top-level sustainability certification.

Wing has opened two Tribe hotels in the past two years: the Ibis & Tribe Budapest Stadium Hotel, a three- and four-star, 332-room hotel located near Népliget, and the Tribe Budapest Airport Hotel, a four-star, 167-room hotel connected to the airport, which has also received the Access4you certification for its inclusive and accessible design.

The Ibis & Tribe Budapest Stadium Hotel represents a blend of design-focused, dynamic hospitality and sustainable operations. The BREEAM In-Use "Outstanding" certification is the highest rating an existing building can obtain and remains a rarity even on a global scale. These certifications are based on the hotels' energy efficiency solutions, waste and water management, people-centred design, and accessibility.

"Wing's hotel division has become a major player in Hungary: we have delivered more than 1,000 hotel rooms and therefore have complex know-how as a developer, investor and operator. Sustainability is a core principle in all our projects – both from an economic and environmental perspective," said Ernő Takács, Deputy CEO of Hotels & Commercial Properties at Wing.

"The 'Outstanding' BREEAM In-Use certification awarded to Ibis & Tribe Budapest Stadium Hotel marks a milestone not only in the Hungarian hospitality sector but also on the international stage. For Greenbors, it is important that more Hungarian developments meet international standards, helping to place Hungary firmly on the map of sustainable hospitality," added Zsombor Barta, Founding Partner of Greenbors and certified BREEAM assessor.
