Hospitality group Accor has signed a management contract with Amera Group for the opening of an ibis Styles hotel in Cluj. This will be the first hotel operated by Accor in Cluj-Napoca, with the project slated to open in April 2025. 

IHG Hotels & Resorts and Wing, a leading Hungarian property development and investment company have announced the signing of Hotel Indigo Budapest Andrassy and Holiday Inn Express Vagohid. Signed at the real estate trade fair Expo Real 2023, both properties mark brand debuts to Hungary, demonstrating investment and growth in the premium and essentials hotel segments.

French hospitality group Accor is expanding its portfolio in Hungary and further strengthening its presence in the Eastern region of the country. The group will open an ibis Styles hotel at Debrecen Airport. The new hotel will welcome its first guests in 2025.

Radisson Hotel Group was selected to be the operator of the hotel component in the Central District Lagoon City, developed in Bucharest by Forty Management. The Radisson Lagoon Hotel Bucharest is planned as the first of several such branded co-operations across the globe. 

Romanian company Rock Development Holding has obtained the construction permit for its first five-star hotel in Poaiana Brașov which will attract an investment of €70 million.

Hampton by Hilton Budapest City Centre has opened its doors to guests. Alongside 219 guest rooms, the hotel features a fitness centre and a lobby bar. Flexible social spaces offer the opportunity to work and meet during the day or socialize in the evening, including meeting spaces available for bookings, as well as on-site parking and EV charging for guest use.

The letter of intent signed in May this year between the Accor Group and PHH Group is giving first effects. Representatives of both companies have signed a franchise agreement. As part of the cooperation, the seaside resort Interferie Hotel Medical Spa in Świnoujście, which is part of the PHH Group, is changing its name to Mövenpick, a premium brand belonging to the Accor Group. The new Mövenpick Świnoujście Medical Spa Resort will welcome guests in just over a few months.

AC Hotels by Marriott, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of 31 brands, announced its brand debut in Croatia with the opening of AC Hotel by Marriott Split. Housed on the high floors of the 135-metre-high Westgate Tower, the hotel offers 214 guestrooms.

The Ritz-Carlton luxury hotel, which is to be built in the heart of Prague after the renovation of eight historic buildings, and was delayed is now moving forward again. The long-planned construction of a five-star hotel was supposed to be completed last year, but the new completion date is now set for 2025 at the earliest. The reconstruction will also include 26 apartments for long-term rent, writes E15.cz.

Prague is the second most attractive market in CEE for hotel operators with a presence or interest in the region. Its popularity is backed up by H1 2023 being a period of healthy recovery for Prague hotels which achieved the second highest (after Budapest) RevPAR (revenue per available room) among the region’s capitals. In this year’s first six months, it reached €69, which is an increase of 57 percent versus H1 2022, and already a 5 percent increase versus the pre-Covid H1 2019. This was primarily driven by the strong ADR (average daily rate) growth, which surpassed 2019 levels by over 20 percent. Hotel operators are optimistic about the industry’s outlook and keen to expand across the CEE region. However, 28 percent of planned hotel projects in the region are facing delays or put on hold, mainly due to the increased development costs, reports Cushman & Wakefield in the Hotel Operator Beat survey.
