Indotek Group continues its international expansion in Greece, entering the Athens real estate market with the acquisition of a three-star, 124-room hotel. The Oscar Hotel Athens is the Group's first acquisition in Greece, adding more than 6,000 square meters of space to its international real estate portfolio. The company's aim is to ensure that the hotel, which is currently closed, can reopen as soon as possible following a complete renovation, thus enabling it to be put to good use. With this acquisition, Indotek Group further strengthens its international real estate position in Greece and Southeastern Europe.

CTP’s portfolio of industrial and logistics spaces in Romania reached 2.1 million sqm in January 2022, with representatives of the company suggesting that the country can become a logistics hub for the region. 

PGIM Real Estate has acquired a logistics development in Legnica, Poland on behalf of its second European value-add fund. The value of transaction has not been disclosed.

West 4 Business Hub I, a Class A office building of an area exceeding 15,500 sqm, was acquired by Solida Capital, an investment and development company. The project of Echo Investment, which obtained the occupancy permit last year, was sold for nearly €40 million.

2021 was a busy year for Romanian real estate agency Griffes with 44,000 sqm of office space leased, a new project as co-investor and the company’s first international leasing mandate. Andreea Paun, Managing Partner and Founder of Griffes talked to Property Forum about the results of last year and shared the company’s expansion plans for 2022.

According to the forecast of EECFA, the Romanian construction industry is poised to grow in both 2022 and 2023. CTP has added 69,000 sqm of buildings and development land to its CTPark Brno Líšeň in the Czech Republic through a sale-and-leaseback transaction with Zetor Tractors, the Czech agricultural machinery producer. The acquisition marks a major step in the overall €125 million transformation of the former Zetor brownfield industrial site into a modern new park for light manufacturing, retail, research and inner-city logistics which CTP embarked on in 2019. The transaction sees CTP consolidating its ownership in the Líšeň district, increasing the total land size to 29 hectares. Upon completion, CTPark Brno Líšeň will provide some 150,000 sqm of lettable area with over 2,500 jobs.

Christie & Co’s annual business outlook for 2022 notes the hotel sector’s different developments in Germany, Austria, the Nordics and the CEE region. The key challenges were caused by the correlation and dependence of destinations with their source markets and the varying Covid-19 numbers. 

Kajima, the pan-European real assets business, has announced it is opening a Warsaw investment office following the appointment of Jan Trybulski as Investment Director and Head of Poland. Jan will be working closely with Kajima’s existing logistics, living and renewables teams to support current operations and drive the expansion of the company’s project pipeline in Central Europe.

New demand for office spaces in Bucharest soared 47% to 104,000 sqm year-on-year in 2021, while total demand volumes gained 23% to 263,000 sqm, according to real estate consultancy Colliers.
