Kraków’s Mogilska 43 Office building and Łódź`s Ogrodowa Office building, which are part of Warimpex’s portfolio, have been certified according to WELL Health & Safety Rating and BREEAM In-use with “Excellent” rating.
Warimpex achieved a positive operating result (EBITDA) in the first half of 2020 despite losses in the hotel segment due to the coronavirus. This can be attributed primarily to the earnings contribution from the rental of office properties – this segment saw a 15% increase in revenues compared with the prior-year period. Following the posting of property impairments and currency losses, this led to a loss of €21.7 million for the first half of 2020, including a result of minus €3.0 million for the second quarter of 2020.
Warimpex officially opened Ogrodowa Office, a modern office building in the centre of Łódź, located in the vicinity of Piotrkowska street, the Manufaktura, and Vienna House Andel’s Łódź. The building provides more than 28,000 sqm of space, of which nearly 4,000 will be occupied by commercial and service outlets as well as food amenities. The building has received the occupancy permit and the first tenants of office and service premises have already moved in.
Warimpex Finanz- und Beteiligungs AG announced the purchase of the B52 Office building in Budapest for an undisclosed price. The transaction was signed on 20 April 2018 and will be closed before the end of the second quarter. The seller is CCE Investment Kft., the investment arm of the prominent real estate investor and development company ConvergenCE.
In February, Warimpex announced the sale of a portfolio of eight hotels to the Thai investor U City. On 31 May, the transaction was successfully closed. Warimpex has taken advantage of this positive momentum on the CEE hotel investment market with this portfolio deal and is set to strengthen its capital structure and to position itself for new development projects.
Warimpex announced the partial sale of its hotel portfolio to Thai investor U City Public Company Limited (U City). The transaction includes eight hotel participations – two of which are partially (50 per cent) owned by UBM Development AG (UBM) – which comprise approximately 50 percent of Warimpex's total real estate assets and which have a property value of approximately €180 million (excluding the stakes of UBM in that portfolio).

TECH LIGHT, a manufacturer and designer of LED lighting profiles, has relocated to Panattoni A2 Warsaw East Park, situated next to Stary Konik junction near Warsaw. Eli Lilly has extended its office lease of 900 sqm in Bucharest Business Park. The pharmaceutical company has been a tenant in the project since 2006. The office complex is owned by CA Immo. Real estate consultancy CBRE worked on the lease extension.
From mid-October this year, Kornél Kalapács is taking up the position of Managing Director of Codic Hungary, the company announced. The Urban Land Institute (ULI) has announced the appointment of Søren Rodian Olsen, managing director of Logicenters at NREP as chair of ULI Poland. He succeeds Dorota Wysokińska-Kuzdra, senior partner at Colliers, and officially began his voluntary two-year term on 1 October 2021.
