BIG CEE buys Belgrade’s largest retail park

Supernova buys 10 shopping centres in Slovenia

Graz-based Supernova Group is continuing its expansion in Slovenia by buying ten shopping centres of Centrice Real Estate GmbH (a company of the American Lone Star fund). The latter had taken over the properties in 2016 from the Austrian company, Heta, the liquidation company of Hypo Alpe Adria within the framework of a major overall transaction. This Qlandia package was the centrepiece of the portfolio and incorporates market-leading shopping centres in several Slovenian regions.

Multi to refurbish Budapest shopping centre

Multi Hungary announced its extensive refurbishment plans for Allee shopping centre in Buda, in the most densely populated district of Budapest. Multi will upgrade and renovate the 46,700 sqm shopping centre, while enhancing the tenant mix, interior and exterior design and customer services. Multi will start the execution phase in the second quarter of 2020 and expects to complete most of the work still in 2020.

Leisure and entertainment attract CEE consumers to shopping centres

According to the new CEE research from Colliers International, which looks at entertainment sector in 13 CEE countries, the leisure offer in shopping centres is dominated by multiplex cinemas and fitness clubs, but there are also other concepts that are being added to the mix. Immofinanz opens repositioned shopping centre in Bratislava

Immofinanz has successfully completed the repositioning and modernisation of its VIVO! Bratislava shopping centre. After a renovation period of nearly 12 months during full operations, the opening of the new shops was celebrated today. VIVO! Bratislava now has 170 speciality shops on 36,000 sqm of rentable space, with many new tenants. The food retailer Lidl and the fashion retailer LPP Group have joined as anchor tenants, and the overall offering has been increased by 20 new brands including, for example, Reserved, Mohito, House, Cropp and Sinsay. Immofinanz has invested roughly €25 million in the modernisation and renovation of the facility, which previously operated as the Polus City Center in Bratislava.

New leases

  • Cărturești is set to become an anchor brand in the RIVUS project developed by Iulius, in Cluj-Napoca, where it will house the country's largest bookstore. The company will lease 2,500 sqm of space, spread across two levels.
  • M1 Poznań, managed by EPP, one of the largest family shopping centres in Wielkopolska, has just gained a new, unique tenant, CentrumRowerowe.pl, which is making its debut in Wielkopolska. In the summer, HalfPrice will also join the list of tenants of the centre, offering global brands, including fashion, home furnishings and sports goods at attractive prices. Customers can also already use the assortment of the recently opened Reporter clothing store and the Rainbow travel agency. All new contracts cover over 5,000 sqm of retail space.
  • Three companies from the PZU Group, one of the largest financial institutions in Poland and Central & Eastern Europe, have decided to lease space at Konstruktorska Business Center in Warsaw for another 10 years. The companies have renewed their lease for a total of over 6,500 sqm of modern office space in the building owned by Golden Star Group.

New appointments

  • Elżbieta Majdan is joining the Property & Asset Management team at Savills Poland as an Associate Director. Elżbieta brings 15 years of experience in managing and commercialising retail properties, gained while implementing key projects on the Polish market.
  • Savills Czech Republic announces new hires and promotions within its valuation team. Daniel Duchek has joined as a Senior Valuer, Alena Arnoldová has strengthened the team as a Junior Valuer, and Ivana Horáková has been promoted Valuer. Under the leadership of Marek Pohl, the team now consists of seven consultants specialising in the valuation of a wide range of assets – from commercial, residential, and hospitality properties to leisure, healthcare facilities, and land.
  • Ewa Nowak, a commercial property valuer, has joined the Valuation Department of international real estate advisory firm Newmark Polska as Senior Associate.
