AFI Europe Romania announces the rescheduling of the opening date for AFI Brasov, the largest shopping centre project to be delivered in Romania in 2020. Initially planned for the spring of this year, the opening date is now scheduled for the autumn of 2020, should the overall social conditions allow it.

“Given the unprecedented situation we are all facing in Romania, in Europe and across the world, we are now in a position in which we have decided to postpone the opening of AFI Brasov to the autumn of 2020, after having initially planned it for May. Our decision is based on our top priority to ensure the safety of all our employees, collaborators and clients, which we cannot provide as we should now, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The opening date will be determined once we reach higher predictability of the overall social context“, stated Ilan Kalimi, AFI Brasov General Director.

Throughout this period, AFI Brasov will provide support to all tenants and partners in order to ensure a smooth adjustment to the current conditions, while also continuing the work for the upcoming opening.

AFI Brasov is the largest retail project expected to be delivered in Romania in 2020, with a total GLA of 45,000 sqm. The centre will include shops, restaurants, a cinema complex, a hypermarket, playgrounds, a gym, service shops and a green terrace. The total investment made by AFI Europe is €170 million.
