Romanian property company Eden Capital Development will invest €25 million in a luxury residential complex in northern Bucharest comprising 172 apartments. 

Property developer One United Properties says it will maintain the existing, single-class share structure, which confers one voting right per each share held, following a ruling of a Bucharest-based court that confirms a shareholder vote from September. 

Banks loans dominate the financing market for property development, but the stock exchange, EU funds and state aid are emerging instruments, suggested speakers during the lenders vs borrowers panel of SEE Property Forum 2021, Property Forum's annual event in Bucharest.   

Polish company Scallier will open its second retail park in Romania on November 11 as part of its expansion strategy on the local market.

Since the start of 2021, around 189,000 sqm of offices were leased on the Bucharest market, of which 70% were for spaces in buildings with green certifications, according to real estate consultancy CBRE Romania. 

Investment transactions in Romania exceeded €540 million in the first nine months of 2021, with around half being closed only in the third quarter, according to property consultancy Colliers Romania. 

Asking prices of apartments in Romania rose by 10.3% in the first nine months of 2021 compared to the same period of last year, with Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca remaining the most expensive markets for home buyers, according to a report by Imobiliare.ro portal. 

The Romanian industrial and logistics market recorded a total demand of 562,000 sqm in the first three quarters of 2021, down only 3% compared to the same period of last year. The sector was mainly driven by new demand, which reached 86% of the total transacted volume, according to real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield Echinox. 

French property group Catinvest has opened a second mixed-use building within its Electroputere Parc project based in Craiova.
