Colliers has issued a new report, European Residential: On the Rise, examining the drivers behind mounting investor interest in residential properties in Europe’s major cities. The report ranks major destinations in terms of their allure to investors and highlights the opportunities and risks emerging around an increasingly prominent asset class.

Trei Real Estate is moving ahead with two large-scale residential projects in Poland. In Wrocław, the company launched the third construction stage of the “Bacciarellego 54” quarter, which will deliver a total of 91 apartments when completed by year-end 2022. In Łódź – with its population of around 700,000 the third-largest city in Poland after Warsaw and Krakow – Trei is about to kick off its second construction stage, which comprises 88 residential units. All things considered, Trei is planning to build a total of 1,320 residential units in Poland in the years ahead and will invest a total of €125 million.

In mid-April this year, Equilis Poland finalized the land purchase transaction in Warsaw's Ursus district and plans to implement development of over 1,000 apartments there. Construction is scheduled to begin in the upcoming year.

Romanian real estate developer One United Properties has purchased a land plot of 21,165 sqm in Bucharest from a member company of Țiriac Group in a deal worth €15 million. 

Living, Wing’s residential property development umbrella brand, has completed its new residential park, Metropolitan Garden, in District 13, near Béke tér. Metropolitan Garden offers homes of various sizes between 30 sqm and 110 sqm in area. Each apartment has a balcony and is equipped with smart solutions.

Swedish company Heimstaden is entering the Prague rental market. It has acquired the first 164 units under construction in Prague's Holešovice district as part of the Pergamenka project from developer FINEP.

Cushman & Wakefield has analysed the findings of a survey carried out by SW Research on a representative sample of the inhabitants of the largest Polish cities. The amount of rent and the standard of accommodation are key to home renters. 

Budimex SA has signed the final sales agreement of Budimex Nieruchomości. Therefore, the private equity investment firm Cornerstone Partners and Czech development group Crestyl took over the entire shareholding of the company.  This is the biggest acquisition in Poland and Central and Eastern Europe since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. The next stage is changing the name of the company - Budimex Nieruchomości is now Spravia.

Real estate developer Geometrik Build will invest €20 million in its first large-scale residential project located in southern Constanța. 

Hungarian-based company Cordia is planning to sell 745 apartments in the country in 2021, which could be nearly half of the Group’s combined sales target in all of its markets.
