DSV, a global supplier of transport and logistics services, has closed the sell-and-lease-back transaction with French investor, Corum Asset Management, for the new DSV International Shared Service Centre in Warsaw’s Mokotow Business District. The total leasable area (GLA) of the project is 20,000 sqm. Cushman & Wakefield advised the seller.

The LivinnX Kraków student residence, developed by Golub GetHouse, has signed an agreement with Tauron, which includes the purchase of electricity obtained entirely from renewable sources, i.e. hydroelectric power plants and wind farms. LivinnX will use the electricity offered as part of the EKO Premium product, which is the only solution in Poland to have a Green Energy Sale Guarantee, confirmed by the Polish Association for Energy Certification.

London-based investor Grosvenor’s Indirect Investment team has expanded its portfolio in the logistics sector with a move into Poland. Grosvenor is the cornerstone investor of Polish Logistics LLP, a new investment vehicle established by IO Asset Management, the specialist manager of industrial real estate, and Reino Capital, a real estate holding company listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Polish Logistics LLP has acquired Logistic City in the established logistics location of Piotrków, south of Łódź, from a private investor.

After acquiring nearly 93% of stocks of Polnord listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, Cordia is one of the first companies to launch a new residential project in Poland following the alleviation of the pandemic. The company has started the presale of more than 200 homes being built in its first project in Gdańsk. Hungary’s leading residential developer is also active in Poznań, where it is preparing its largest-ever Polish residential investment with a large-scale urban rehabilitation. For the company, the Polish market is particularly important as it proved to be stable even during the years of the global crisis in 2008-2009.

Tesco announces the sale of its business in Poland to Salling Group A/S. The transaction, which is subject to antitrust approval, includes the sale of 301 stores together with the associated distribution centres and head office.

The portfolio of European Logistics Investment BV (ELI) is expanding thanks to a new investment located in Silesia. Together with its strategic partner Panattoni Europe, ELI will deliver a BTS warehouse and industrial space for the Weber company. The 50,000-sqm facility will be developed in Zabrze with the tenant moving there in the second half of 2021. The warehouse in Zabrze expands ELI's portfolio located in Silesia.

Tenants are to move into the EQ2 office building, developed by Waryński Group, in Q1 2021. The office building has already reached its target heigh, and the completion of construction work has been celebrated with a symbolic topping off ceremony. The pandemic has changed the way we live and work. We still do not know whether these changes will be temporary or permanent in nature and whether they will stay with us, even when the threat of the disease is behind us. The uncertainty of the new and unprecedented situation has impacted all real estate sectors to a lesser or greater extent. Sharing of space, which is one of the key principles underpinning co-living, appears to be the absolute opposite of pandemic isolation. Contrary to appearances, this type of accommodation where in addition to sharing space residents also share a set of interests and values may be an easier and more enjoyable way of staying in quarantine, especially for lonely people and those living far from their families.
