BNP Paribas Real Estate expands managed portfolio

From the beginning of April, BNP Paribas Real Estate Poland will take over the management of four IKEA Centers retail parks located in Poland on behalf of the landlord Pradera. The contract will increase the Polish portfolio of managed properties by more than 140,000 sqm. Ultimately, the international property management business line of BNP Paribas Real Estate will manage 25 properties in eight European countries.

Skanska starts new development in Łódź

Apart from Nowa Fabryczna - the first office building in Nowe Centrum Łodzi – Skanska will also develop its newest project, Brama Miasta in the city of Łódź. The two office buildings, with leasable office space totalling 40,000 sqm, will be able to accommodate up to 4,000 employees. Construction is to be launched in H1 2017.

GTC secures €11.4 million for refinancing

GTC has signed an €11.4 million investment loan with Berlin Hyp Bank for the refinancing of the previous loan agreement for the Corius office building. The Class A office building offers a total leasable area of over 9,700 sqm and is GOLD LEED certificated.

Panattoni Europe starts BTS development in Central Poland

Panattoni Europe is to build another distribution centre for Castorama Polska. The project, one of the biggest in Poland, will be delivered in Stryków. Contruction works will commence later this April. The lease was mediated by experts from JLL.

Q1 2017: strong start for CEE investment markets

2016’s record-breaking €12.2 billion investment in the real estate sector in the CEE region is likely to be surpassed in 2017 – this is according to CEE Real Estate Investment Compass 2017 published by Colliers International and CMS. The sources of investment flows into the CEE region are also expected to remain diverse in 2017, with Asian and CEE investors becoming increasingly active in the real estate market.

EPP raises €150 million on JSE

Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) listed Polish property group Echo Polska Properties (EPP) raised approximately ZAR2.2 billion (around €150 million) in an accelerated bookbuilding through the placing of app. 119 million new shares at a price of ZAR18.50 per share. Capital will be used to previously announced acquisitions and for further M&A opportunities in the retail segment within Poland.

Business Garden Wrocław gets certified

Vastint Poland was awarded LEED-Platinum for the first phase of Business Garden Wrocław. Once completed, the complex will comprise nine office and retail buildings with a total leasable area of 117,000 sqm.

C&W appointed property manager of Warsaw building

Cushman & Wakefield has been appointed property manager of the Prosta Tower office building in Warsaw. A special open-ended real estate fund managed by Credit Suisse Real Estate Investment Management Germany is the owner of the scheme. The property management agreement was signed in December 2016.

New leases

  • Westinghouse Electric Company will occupy a space of over 1900 sqm in the Zabłocie Business Park B office building in Kraków. JLL represented the tenant during the contract negotiation process.
  • Grupa Azoty, a producer of fertilizer and chemical components has extended its lease in the Warsaw Trade Tower. The company occupies 1,160 sqm in the skyscraper, which is owned by Globalworth.
  • 108 Agency Slovakia has mediated the lease of 720 sqm for its client Mercurtrade in Beta – Car Park Pezinok.

New appointments

  • Spaceflow, a tenant experience company, appoints Ken Norton as its Vice President of Sales. Among Norton’s goals is to accelerate the growth of its client base, while scaling Spaceflow's sales team in their international markets and optimizing the sales processes. Norton joined Spaceflow after three years as Head of Sales at LandInsight, now Landtech. Prior to joining LandInsight, he was in Business Development at Estates Gazette.
  • Benoit Lheureux will replace Gerard Gallet as a CEO of Auchan Polska. Gerard Gallet will remain a Member of the Board.
  • Tomasz Łapiński, former CFO of Cordia Poland, has returned to the company as Development Director and Vice President. He will be responsible for strengthening Cordia's position in Poland, its development and further integration with Polnord.
