Accor signs first Tribe hotel in Hungary

CTP to develop 16,000 sqm production facility near Budapest

Geis Logistics Hungary Kft., the local representative of the German-based transport and logistics company has signed a lease agreement for a custom-built production facility at CTPark Vecsés, near Budapest. The Geis Group will store Knorr-Bremse Systeme products in the new almost 16,000 square meters logistics facility with extra features related to the braking systems for rail and commercial vehicles produced by Knorr-Bremse Group.

Residential rents continue to rise in Hungary

Rents continued to rise in June 2021, increasing by 1.6% nationally and by 1.8% in Budapest compared to the previous month, the latest KSH-ingatlan.com rent index shows. Supply prices were also slightly higher than in the same period last year, something not seen for more than a year. Of all the district groups in Budapest, prices stagnated only in the outer districts of Pest, while the largest price increase (2.8%) on the previous month was recorded in the transitional districts of Pest.

Wing to develop RTL Hungary’s new head office

Wing and RTL Services Kft., a business services company of Magyar RTL Televízió Zrt., have signed a long-term lease agreement involving the soon to be renovated Liget Center and Liget Auditorium office buildings. RTL Hungary’s head office and news studios will relocate to this nearly 9,000 sqm complex in a historic environment opposite City Park in 2024, after the renovation of the heritage buildings in a development fully tailored to the tenant’s needs.

Renewals continue to drive Budapest’s office market

Total demand on the Budapest office market reached 97,990 sqm in Q2 2021, representing increases of 31% quarter-on-quarter and 11% year-on-year. Renewals still made up the largest share of total leasing activity with 40%, according to the Budapest Research Forum (BRF).

New leases

  • GSP Global Solutions Provider has further expanded its cooperation with CTP by leasing an additional nearly 7,000 sqm in CTPark Budapest Vecsés on a long-term basis.
  • Lighting solutions provider Luxiona has secured 430 sqm of office space at the Warsaw-based Greenwings Offices complex. The site will serve as the company's Polish HQ and a dedicated showroom for its lighting range. Axi Immo represented the tenant in the transaction.
  • Stokado, Poland’s second-largest self-storage operator, has launched its second facility in Warsaw’s Bemowo district. The site offers over 4,800 sqm of net leasable area across approximately 950 storage units.

New appointments

  • Krzysztof Wróblewski (MRICS) has been named Head of Portfolio Management CEE at Peakside Capital Advisors, responsible for overseeing investments and managing the real estate portfolio. He succeeds Christopher Smith in this role.
  • Garbe Industrial is reorganising its senior leadership team. CEO Christopher Garbe will now focus on strategic orientation and international activities. Jan Philipp Daun assumes leadership of the Development division alongside his existing Investment and Joint Venture responsibilities. Andrea Agrusow expands her remit to include Portfolio Management while retaining control of Commercial and Real Estate Management. Additionally, Michael Marcinek and Maik Zeranski will now jointly head the restructured Development unit as Management Board Members, succeeding Adrian Zellner.
  • CPI Property Group is strengthening its leasing structure with the appointment of Agnieszka Baczyńska as Head of Leasing. In her new role, she will be responsible for shaping and executing the leasing strategy across the group’s office and retail portfolio in Poland. At the same time, Izabela Potrykus has been appointed Leasing Office Director. Baczyńska brings more than 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate market. Prior to joining CPI Property Group in 2022, she served as International Leasing Director at Neinver Polska.
